Speed Control Era Begins in Intercity Buses

Within the scope of the road transport regulations, the use of vehicle tracking devices has become mandatory in buses that transport intercity passengers. With the new system, the speed of the vehicle in intercity passenger buses will be transferred to the Transportation Electronic Tracking and Control System (U-ETDS) every 2 minutes.

With the regulation of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the obligation of tracking system in intercity public transportation vehicles has been implemented. Regarding this regulation, which closely concerns the sector, Arvento General Manager Özer Hıncal said, “More than 1 million vehicles are added to traffic every year. To prevent traffic accidents and ensure the safety of drivers and passengers, vehicle tracking systems are not a choice but a necessity. "This regulation is an important step taken in the field of public transportation," he said.

Arvento General Manager Özer Hıncal stated that vehicle tracking systems are a need, not a choice, and expressed his views on the regulation. Hıncal said, “To date, our vehicle tracking systems have been used in more than 20 company vehicles of more than 130.000 customers in more than 1.300.000 countries. Such great data and our 18 years of experience have shown us that; Vehicle tracking systems provide 7% speed control from the first day. I say 24 percent because our devices can measure speed data every second, 2023 hours a day, 230.000 days a week. Thus, speed control can be done not only with radars but also continuously and automatically, and the system instantly sends an information message when the speed limit is exceeded. Leaving aside accidents with material damage, there were more than 1 traffic accidents in our country in XNUMX, which were caused by driver error and directly affected human life. With today's technologies, it is possible to instantly monitor many vehicle data and driver behaviors and thus minimize accidents. Considering that millions of people were transported by public transportation last year, it is not difficult to see that any improvement to be made here will directly affect the lives of our citizens. More than XNUMX million vehicles entering traffic every year show how urgent this need is. Thanks to this system, not only life safety; "The aim is to prevent pirated and illegal transportation, make better route planning and use this data effectively in natural disasters," he said.
