Ford is updating the Puma crossover model, which is popular in Europe. This updated version of the Puma now serves as Ford's entry-level model with the end of production of the Fiesta. These innovations come with significant changes in the interior and exterior design of the vehicle.
A Radical Visual Change Is Coming!
The updated Puma gets a radical makeover rather than a complete redesign of the current version introduced in 2019. This makeover will give the vehicle a new face such as renewed headlights, grille and bumper. The car's brand emblem will also be moved to the inside of the grille, but the changes at the rear will be less obvious.
Interior and Technology Innovations
Although the spy photos released so far do not show the full interior of the vehicle, previous observations have shown that the Puma will have a driver display and a larger 12.0-inch infotainment screen.
An Electric Puma is on the Way
However, the biggest change seems to be in the technological improvements under the vehicle. Ford will introduce the fully electric version of Puma. This electric Puma will use electric drive components from the E-Transit Courier and will be able to produce an estimated 134 horsepower.
Puma EV will offer fast charging and can travel 10 km with 100 kilowatt DC charging in just 86 minutes. This electric version will also attract attention with its special front design.
Gasoline Engine Options Continue
Ford will continue to offer Puma with gasoline engine options. The 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost hybrid engine, offered as standard, will be able to produce 123, 153 or 168 horsepower in different versions. Additionally, the turbocharged 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine is expected to be used in the manual transmission Puma ST model.
