Ford recalls more than 40 thousand cars

US automotive manufacturer Ford is recalling more than 40 thousand of its cars. An investigation was opened against US automotive manufacturer Ford in its own country.

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Friday that it had launched an investigation into Ford and a recall of more than 42 thousand SUV models due to concerns about a fuel leak that could lead to a fire in the car's engine.

The auto safety regulatory agency announced that it is reviewing the adequacy and safety implications of Ford's proposed recall analysis for the 2022-2023 model year Bronco Sport and 1.5 Ford Escape SUVs with 2022L engines.

Ford issued a recall for a new fuel injector that could crack the fuel injector and leak fuel, causing a fire under the hood.

Ford reports that while it is working on an engine control software update and a purge valve, replacing the cracked fuel injector is risky.

In the statement made by the company, it was noted that it was aware of five underhood fires in 1.5L Escape and Bronco Sport vehicles, but there was no report of any accident or injury regarding the issue.

NHTSA stated that Ford recalled approximately 2022 thousand units of 522-2020 Ford Escape and 2023-2021 Ford Bronco Sport in 2023 with the same analysis due to the same problem.
