Mercedes-Benz continues its automobile tradition that combines sporty and magnificent design with a new model. The all-new CLE Coupé brings together the C-Class and E-Class to create a brand new concept. The new two-door car CLE Coupé, with its impressive design, special comfort equipment and sporty driving performance, is now in Turkey after hitting the roads in Europe in the last quarter of 2023. CLE Cabriolet is expected to be offered for sale in Turkey in the second half of the year.
The long wheelbase, aerodynamic A-pillar, shortened front bumper area and extended rear bumper area, pronounced shoulder line and large wheels highlight the qualities identified with Mercedes-Benz. The completely new CLE Coupé combines its sporty and elegant body structure with the refined design language of Mercedes-Benz.
With its sporty low bonnet, slim LED headlight design and diamond-looking radiator grille with star design, the forward-sloping front section displays an athletic yet elegant appearance with its shark expression. The power domes on the long hood emphasize the power supported by hybrid technology. When viewed from the side, a unique silhouette stands out. The distinctive character line extends from the headlights to the rear lighting group along the side mirror, creating a unique silhouette. The muscular rear part, a holistic surface, smooth transitions and a three-dimensional two-piece LED lighting group characterize the rear design.
With its length of 4.850 mm, width of 1.860 mm and height of 1.428 mm, the new CLE is the largest coupé model of the middle class. With its 25 mm longer wheelbase, the CLE Coupé offers much more space than the C-Class Coupé. Especially in the rear, passengers have 10 mm more head room, 19 mm more shoulder/elbow room and 72 mm more leg room. The trunk has 60 liters more volume.
With the 12,3-inch fully digital instrument panel in the interior, you have full control on the 6-inch central screen, which is vertically arranged and oriented 11,9° towards the driver. In addition to the ambient lighting that surrounds you, the integrated sports front seats developed specifically for CLE attract attention. Burmester® 3D surround sound system and two speakers located in the front headrests offer an immersive music experience with Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio.
Front seats with Easy-Entry function are unlocked not using the door handle, but with an elegant strap designedly placed on the upper edge of the seat backrest.
The CLE Coupé also benefits from numerous digital innovations featured in the new E-Class. CLE, the smartest coupé with its new electronic architecture and third-generation MBUX infotainment system, brings users together with all the possibilities of technological luxury.
The completely new CLE Coupé also sets standards in efficiency with its hybrid architecture. All engine options are offered with an integrated starter generator and 48 volt electrical system.
The chassis is 15 millimeters closer to the ground as standard. The suspension system with selectable stiffness and the rear axle steering system, offered with the Standard Technical package, combine sporty driving with comfort. With the rear axle steering system, the rear axle turning angle increases up to 2,5 degrees, shortening the turning circle by approximately 50 cm. Despite its larger dimensions, the new CLE Coupé has a smaller turning circle compared to the C-Class Coupé (11,2 meters instead of 10,7 metres).
Numerous driving assistance systems support driving safety. Important functions such as ATTENTION ASSIST, Active Brake Assist, Active Lane Tracking Assist and Parking Package with 360° camera, DISTRONIC, Active Tracking Assist are offered as standard.
Traditional coupé design for a sporty and elegant look
The coupé-specific proportions of the sporty and elegant two-door model combine with Mercedes-Benz's modern design language, shaped by the "Emotional Simplicity" design philosophy. Thus, the new CLE Coupé draws attention with its seamless and flowing lines. When viewed from the side, a dynamic and elegant silhouette stands out. With its low stance (1.422 mm), long wheelbase (2.865 mm), short front and rear overhangs (888 mm at the front/1.097 mm at the rear) and muscular shoulder line, the two-door coupé dominates the roads. The power domes on the long bonnet and the sloping windshield and the roof line that descends gracefully towards the rear complete the silhouette of the new CLE. The passenger cabin positioned towards the rear of the car strengthens the dynamism.
Distinctive details in the side design reconstruct the powerful volume of the car. Characteristic lines start from the headlights to the side mirrors and from the rear lighting group to the door handle, emphasizing the sporty proportions and strong wheel arches. In addition, the silhouette becomes even stronger with chrome window frames. The car, which has the AMG interior and exterior design concept, can be equipped with 19 or 20 inch wheels.
Diamond-look radiator grille with star design
The diamond-looking radiator grille with star design, as in all coupé models, has a single frame in gloss black. The downwardly opening A-shaped form of the radiator grille also supports the powerful appearance of the new CLE Coupé. The chrome frame around the gloss black central air intake in the front bumper makes the two-door look lower and closer to the road.
LED backlight group with three-dimensional light structure
It draws attention with its strong rear, flowing surfaces and smooth transitions. In addition, the two-piece LED backlight group with new contours and three-dimensional light lines creates a visual feast. The rear lights are connected by a dark-toned design element, emphasizing the width of the rear section, such as the chrome strip on the rear bumper.
The largest coupé model in its class
The all-new CLE Coupé is in a special league with its size. With a length of 4.850 mm, a width of 1.861 mm and a height of 1.422 mm, the new two-door model is significantly larger than the C-Class Coupé. It is two mm lower and 15 mm longer than the E-Class Coupé.
Plenty of space and sporty luxury
Active ambient lighting with 64 different colors supports the sporty interior atmosphere. Front and center console decorations, large storage space, wireless charging feature, overhead control unit, door handles, seat adjustment unit and ambient lighting in the footwells, a line extending along the lower edge of the instrument panel to the ventilation outlets on both sides of the center console. It transforms the interior into your personal pleasure area with its light strip. A light strip extending from the doors, armrests and along the belt line to the rear seat bench completely surrounds you, reinforcing the feeling of ample space.

The Burmester® 3D surround sound system takes the immersive audio experience to a new level with Dolby Atmos. The driver and passengers are surrounded by sound with unparalleled, multi-dimensional depth and clarity that gives the effect of a recording studio or a live concert. Dolby Atmos allows each instrument or voice to be positioned individually. While traditional stereo systems are prone to right-left dynamics, Dolby Atmos can create a 360-degree experience using all audio ranges. The Burmester® 3D surround sound system includes 17 speakers, two of which are in the front seat headrests.
The new front seats with integrated headrests developed for CLE bring an innovative solution. With the Burmester® 3D surround sound system, there are two speakers at each headrest level. This creates an immersive music experience with Dolby Atmos.
User interface: Pixel perfect in the best operating architecture
Among the on-screen visuals and layout taken from the new C-Class, the driver can choose between “Classic”, “Sport” and “Ambient” styles. Settings such as driving, telephone and comfort are managed directly and intuitively via the central screen.
New Easy-Entry function integrated into the seat
For the first time at Mercedes-Benz, front seats with Easy-Entry function are unlocked not using a lever, but with an elegant leather strap harmoniously located on the upper edge of the seat backrest.
Special materials and colors
One of the most user-friendly features of the new CLE Coupé is the choice of special colors and quality materials and different personalization options. Many different colors and materials can be chosen in addition to the standard seat upholstery offered with the AMG Design Concept. Beige, brown, red or white upholstery can be combined with optional patterns and decorations.
With the AMG interior design concept, the instrument panel and belt lines are covered with ARTICO leather as standard. There are also different decoration options. The newly introduced silver fabric braided decorations particularly stand out. Another new trim is the wood trim in light-grained black with aluminum stripes and matte finish. There are also matte-finish wood trim in light-grained brown walnut, matt-finish wood trim in anthracite linden wood and AMG carbon-fiber trim.
Large interior volume
The all-new CLE Coupé offers significantly more space than the C-Class Coupé, with a wheelbase that is 25 millimeters longer. Rear passengers benefit from 10 millimeters more headroom, 19 millimeters more shoulder and elbow room and 72 millimeters more legroom. Additionally, the trunk offers 60 liters more volume.
Efficient driving performance with electrically assisted motors
Thanks to electrification and intelligent space reduction solutions, the new CLE Coupé also sets standards in efficiency. It includes hybrid solutions with a four-cylinder gasoline 4MATIC engine. In addition to turbocharging, the integrated starter generator supports power transfer.
The integrated starter generator with 48 Volt supply supports the internal combustion engine, especially at low revs. Apart from additional power support, it also performs gliding and energy recovery functions. All these measures help reduce fuel consumption. It also cranks the engine very quickly and smoothly. Thus, it provides additional comfort in functions such as start-stop. Thanks to the new battery technology, the power of the electric motor increases from 15 kW to 17 kW, while the integrated starter generator remains the same. zamIt currently provides 205 Nm of additional torque.
Innovative 4-cylinder 4MATIC powertrain
CLE 190 300MATIC with 4 kW (WLTP: combined fuel consumption: 7,6-7,0 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 173-159 g/km). The M 254 2,0 liter engine incorporates many advanced engineering solutions. NANOSLIDE® cylinder coating, CONICSHAPE® cylinder honing (trumpet honing), variable flow turbocharging and engine-integrated exhaust gas purification solutions are some of these. Additionally, the 190 kW engine provides higher power output with its two-stage valve lift system CAMTRONIC.
9G-TRONIC transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel drive
All CLE versions use the 9G-TRONIC transmission customized for adaptation of the integrated starter generator. Engineers move the electric motor, power electronics and transmission cooler into or onto the transmission, offering installation space and weight advantages. The optimized interaction with the electric auxiliary oil pump results in a 30 percent reduction in the volume of the mechanical pump compared to its predecessor. It uses a multi-core processor and fully integrated transmission control with new assembly and connection technology. In addition to increased computing power, the number of electrical interfaces is reduced, and the weight of transmission control is reduced by 30 percent with improvements made. The 4MATIC all-wheel drive system provides higher torque at the front axle. Thanks to the improvements, the reduced total weight reduces CO2 emissions.
Sporty, comfortable and optimum handling
The suspension of the new CLE Coupé provides agile driving pleasure on winding roads and superior driving comfort over long distances. The four-link geometry of the front wheels contributes to dynamic handling. The five-link multi-link structure on the rear axle increases straight-line stability.
Suspension system with adjustable stiffness
The technical package in the new CLE Coupé includes a suspension system with adjustable stiffness on the front and rear axles, a rear axle steering system and 2,5° equipment. The active chassis controls the damping characteristics individually for each wheel in conjunction with the engine, transmission and steering characteristics to suit the driving situation, speed and different road conditions. Thanks to the DYNAMIC SELECT modes, the driver can make choices between comfort and sporty driving. It offers a stiffer suspension and damping structure as well as sporty steering responses for more direct handling and agility. When cornering quickly or performing quick evasive manoeuvres, the sporty drive setting increases dynamism by providing less understeer.
More agile driving characteristics with rear axle steering
Providing more direct steering on the front axle with the support of rear axle steering, the new CLE Coupé offers agile and balanced driving characteristics. The rear wheels turn up to 2,5 degrees, reducing the turning circle by 50 centimeters. Thus, 4MATIC versions have a turning circle of 11,7 meters instead of 11,2 meters. Additionally, thanks to the more direct steering ratio, the driver only needs to make less steering movements. At speeds below 60 km/h, the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction to the front wheels. Thus, the wheelbase is virtually shortened, providing more maneuverability and agility. From 60 km/h the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front wheels. The virtually extended wheelbase provides increased driving stability and driving safety at high speeds, rapid lane changes or sudden maneuvers.
