Volkswagen enters the electric performance segment with the ID.X Performance concept

Volkswagen plans to add new performance electric vehicles to its electrification offensive. ID. We've seen the GTI concept and the ID. We know that the Buzz and ID.3 models will both receive performance updates thanks to VW's new GTX badge.

However, now VW is focusing fully on performance with a separate concept vehicle and calls this concept vehicle ID.X Performance. Based on the ID.7 sedan, the ID.X Performance bears little visual resemblance to the regular model, except for a basic shape.

The front has a sharp look with a large black grille at the base of the bumper and air intakes located at each corner. There's also a carbon fiber diffuser and GTI-like red trim.

At the back, it sports a large rear spoiler above the trunk lid, plenty of carbon fiber on the lower part of the bumper, and red accents as on the front and sides. The vehicle is 7 mm (60 in) lower than the conventional ID.2,4.

In terms of performance, the ID. Like the ID.550, the ID.X Performance concept also has a 411 kilowatt DC fast charging capacity.
