Hyundai started the production of the second generation of KONA Electric, an important option among electric models, in its factory in the Czech Republic. This model will be one of 2024 new Hyundai EV models developed in line with the goal of selling only zero-emission vehicles in Europe by 11.
A special model for the European market
Hyundai decided to produce the KONA Electric model in Europe in order to better serve its customers in Europe. Thus, delivery times were shortened and logistics costs were reduced. The Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) factory plans to produce 21.000 KONA Electric units in the first year. This model will be exported to more than 40 countries, including Turkey. Consumers in Turkey will be able to meet this model in the last quarter of the year.
Advanced security and convenience features
KONA Electric stands out as an SUV that is both competitive in the B-SUV segment and suitable for the needs of consumers in Turkey. This model offers a class-leading range of advanced safety and comfort features. For example, the smart driving support system called Hyundai SmartSense includes features such as blind spot warning, lane keeping assistant, adaptive cruise control, and collision avoidance assistant. It also offers connectivity options such as a 10.25-inch touch screen, wireless charging unit, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Zero-emission performance
KONA Electric offers zero-emission performance. This model comes with two different battery options. The version, which offers a range of 39 km with a 305 kWh battery, is equipped with a 136 horsepower electric motor. The version that offers a range of 64 km with a 484 kWh battery comes with a 204 horsepower electric motor. Both versions can reach 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. In addition, it can reach 80 percent charge level at fast charging stations in 47 minutes.
Hyundai aims to have an assertive position in the electric vehicle market with the KONA Electric model. This model will also be part of the brand's goal of selling only zero-emission vehicles in Europe by 2035.
