Experienced designer Luc Donkerwolke was also the design chief of the brands Kia and Genesis. The South Korean producer has announced that a new chief designer will not be appointed for now.
Luc Donkerwolke announced that his sudden resignation did not have anything to do with the company, he resigned from his post only for personal reasons. "It was a great honor and privilege to contribute to shaping the future of Hyundai, Kia and Genesis," said Belgian chief designer.
Hyundai has announced that following Luc Donckerwolke's resignation, it will remove the management position responsible for the design of all three brands. SangYup Lee will now be appointed to head the design department for the Hyundai and Genesis brands. At Kia, Karim Habib will continue to head the design center.
Donckerwolke switched to Hyundai after leaving the Volkswagen Group in 2015. Luc Donckerwolke made a great contribution to the design of Kona and Palisade models.
