Entering the ground effect era last season, F1 will continue with the same vehicles and frozen engines until the 2026 season. This limits the development of the teams and causes Red Bull to currently lead the championship by 125 points. Former Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa says no one can stop Verstappen until the 2026 season.
Speaking to Marca, Massa said: “Verstappen will continue to win everything until the rules change. it will.” said. “We will have equal arrangements, but right now Verstappen is superior, Red Bull is superior. So by 2026 we can expect Verstappen to win all the titles.”
Massa isn't sure if Red Bull will do the same in 2026, but he thinks Verstappen is the best driver in F1 right now. "Logically, we're going to face a big shift where everything is new and we need to figure out if Red Bull will be what it is today." said. "But I don't see anyone on the same level as Verstappen right now."
Verstappen won the Formula 2021 title in 1 and is the favorite in the title fight this season. Red Bull is also performing very well in new cars and the team looks set to be ambitious for the championship in 2026 as well.
