Daniel Ricciardo could return to Red Bull in 2025

The Australian driver terminated his contract at the end of last year after two difficult years with McLaren and started this year as Red Bull's reserve driver. However, Ricciardo, who replaced AlphaTauri driver Nyck de Vries in the middle of the season, is making calculations to move to Red Bull in 2025, even though he is racing in a slower car.

Red Bull management has confirmed that Ricciardo is one of the candidates for Sergio Perez's seat. When asked if he was surprised that Ricciardo wasn't chosen over De Vries, former Shadow F1 driver and three-time Le Mans 24 Hours winner David Kennedy told PlanetF1.com: "I'm surprised he didn't get there sooner."

"I think his level with Verstappen as a teammate was really respectable."

“Maybe he zamThere may have been other issues at the moment, but if you just look at the performance, Ricciardo was the best.”

Noting Verstappen's performance, Kennedy said, "Being a teammate of someone with such extraordinary talent is the hardest job in the world."

“From my experience there are very, very few people who can handle it.”

“The one that comes to mind is Eddie Irvine. Eddie was sitting next to one of the greatest racing drivers [Michael Schumacher] ever, and he could come out and really push the track every time.”

“I know the situation Red Bull is in is difficult. But Daniel's zamAt the moment I thought he was a very solid player. He may not have the magic that Verstappen has, but he's so close that he'd be the perfect teammate."

“He's very tough, but he can also admit that someone else can do better than him. After all, if you're a smart racer, you can still win the race."

Ricciardo's return to Red Bull will be a major plus in the team's fight for the title. Ricciardo is an experienced and talented driver and could be a good teammate with Verstappen.
