Marquez: “I welcome Zarco”

Feeling that he was not getting the support he wanted from Honda, Alex Rins terminated his two-season deal and took the opportunity to become a factory driver again by signing with Yamaha. This left the LCR Honda seat empty and many drivers stared at it.

It was known that Honda gave priority to Iker Lecuona for this seat, but Johann Zarco has been the prominent name recently. Zarco, who has been racing with Pramac Ducati for the last three seasons, has been promised by Ducati "a MotoGP seat for one year, WSBK seat for the next", while Honda offers a 2+1 contract.

The rumors on Saturday are that Zarco has reached an agreement with LCR, and the official announcement will be made as soon as possible.

Marc Marquez on Zarco: “If he has joined us, I welcome him. He's a really fast driver, someone with a lot of experience with other teams." said. “So I can only say welcome, frankly I have no interest in who gets to take the empty seat of LCR Honda.”
