General Motors extends production of 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV and EUV

General Motors has announced that it will extend production of the 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV and EUV until December 2023. This is a change after production of the two subcompact electric vehicles was originally scheduled to end on November 7.

GM said the production extension was "to provide customers with more opportunity and to meet the demand for the popularity of our vehicles." The two models are the most affordable electric vehicles on sale in the US, with starting prices of $2023 and $27.495 in the 28.795 model year.

Bolt EV and Bolt EUV are built on GM's BEV2 platform and are known as pioneers of the Ultium-powered BEV3 architecture. This platform will form the basis of future GM electric vehicles such as the Chevrolet Equinox EV and Blazer EV, Cadillac Lyriq and Cadillac Celestiq.

GM said the production extension of the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV is a demonstration of the company's commitment to expanding its electric vehicle portfolio and maintaining its leadership position in the electric vehicle market.
