Opel Introduces New 'Lightning' Logo

Opel introduced the new “Lightning” logo. The new logo will be gradually applied to all Opel models. Opel introduced the iconic “Lightning Lightning” logo, which it will use on its new models in 2024. The new logo will continue to form the central element of "Opel Compass". Same zamOpel Vizör, one of the main features of the exciting and critically acclaimed design philosophy of the Rüsselsheim-based automaker, will continue to be at the center of the brand face. Lightning has become an ideal logo, closely related to electricity and symbolizing Opel's approach to the era of electric mobility.

Opel CEO Florian Huettl evaluated the new logo; “Our new Şimşek logo is now more closely associated with our brand than ever before. It not only symbolizes our commitment to bringing innovation and mobility to the masses, but also zamIt also underlines our commitment to be an all-electric brand in Europe by 2028. This year, we will have 15 electric models in our product range.”

Mark Adams, Vice President of Design; “Şimşek is the symbol of our 'Brave and Simple' brand philosophy. Our sharper, more confident new 'Lightning' logo intersects with the support circle, giving our iconic logo an innovative and modern look. Our new logo is central to our Compass design approach. Compass forms the backbone of our front, rear and interior design elements.”

Prepare for surprises at IAA Munich Mobility Automotive and Sub-Industry Fair 2023

The German automaker will gradually introduce the new “Lightning” logo in its product range in the coming years. The first mass-produced vehicles with a new look will hit the road in 2024. Opel CEO Florian Huettl explained that the new logo will already stand out as follows:

“The IAA Munich Mobility Auto Show is one of the largest auto shows in the world. That's why I think it's a great place to introduce our new 'Lightning' logo to a large, international audience. We will also have a surprise for the visitors of the fair. Visitors to our booth in Munich will be very excited.”
