Aiming to become an all-electric brand in Europe by 2028, Opel is preparing to launch the fully electric version of Astra after Mokka and Corsa. The Astra model, with its history and its pioneering achievements, is going into mass production for the first time with its new generation. Within the scope of this strategy, Opel Turkey continues its electric model offensive, which it started in our country with Mokka Elektrik and Corsa Elektrik, with Astra Elektrik. The electric model, which started to be ordered with a deposit of 75 thousand TL through the online reservation system as of June, is getting ready to hit the roads of Turkey in September.

Regarding the launch of the electric version of the 2022 Golden Steering Wheel Award-winning Astra, Opel Turkey General Manager Emre Özocak said, “As one of the most popular players in the compact hatchback class, Astra continues its journey towards segment leadership with firm steps, with the launch of its new electric generation. With the sales of 347 Astras in May alone, we reached a share of 14,3 percent in C-HB and ranked 2nd after our domestic competitor. In the first 5 months, we achieved the leadership in the imported C-HB class with Astra. We continue the success we achieved with the internal combustion engine Astra, without slowing down, in our move to switch to electric. With the support of Electric Astra, which will meet with our customers as of September, we aim to further increase our electric car sales share. We aim to make one out of every 2023 electric vehicle customers an Opel customer by 10.”

Exciting, everyday use and zero emissions

Bringing a zero-emission and exciting driving experience to the roads with its all-electric infrastructure, Astra Elektrik also draws attention with its performance. The electric motor in Opel Astra Elektrik has 115 kW/156 HP and 270 Nm of torque. Thus, the model provides the user with a fast take-off and impressive acceleration experience from the moment of touching the accelerator pedal. Also, while most other electric cars are limited to 150 km/h, the new Astra Electric has a top speed of 170 km/h. 0-100 km / h acceleration is 9.2 seconds. Apart from that, Astra Elektrik users can choose between three modes, Eco, Normal and Sport, depending on their driving preference.

Driving range up to 418 km

The new Astra Electric offers an all-electric driving range of up to 418 km according to WLTP. Efficiency-focused engineers managed to achieve an exemplary range with a compact battery size. Astra has a 6-cell, 17 kWh lithium-ion battery consisting of 102 battery cells in 54 modules. The new Astra Elektrik consumes only 100 kWh of electricity per 14,8 kilometers. The brake energy recovery system ensures that energy can be recovered while driving. This consumption average not only makes the new Astra Electric an efficient tool for everyday use, but also zamIt also makes it an ideal companion for long journeys. When Astra Elektrik is fast charged with 100 kW of direct current, it can reach 80 percent battery capacity in approximately 26 minutes. The all-electric Astra is also equipped with a three-phase 11 kW internal charger as standard for the home wall charging station.

The living space that sets the class standards

Batteries were placed under the body to create more usable space in the car. In this way, the loss of space for passengers in the interior of the car is prevented. Another advantage is the low position of the battery. As with other Opel models, it provides the driver with a safe and balanced drive. This also increases torsional rigidity by 31 percent, as in other Astra versions. Opel Astra Elektrik, which weighs 679 kilograms excluding the driver, offers its users one of the best values in its class. This feature is similar to the internal combustion engine Astra, with a length of 4.374 mm, a width of 1.860 mm, a height of 1 mm and a wheelbase of 488 mm. The luggage volume, which is 2.675 liters in the standard position, can be enlarged to 352 liters when the rear seats are folded down.

Electric transportation experience without compromising safety with Astra Elektrik

Thanks to the ergonomic Active Sports seats combined with Alcantara upholstery, Astra Elektrik offers Opel-specific high seating comfort. AGR (Healthy Backs Campaign) approved seats offer different combinations of manual and electrical adjustments with successful side support. Thus, the driver feels even more integrated into the vehicle and experiences a unique feeling while driving.

The fully digital Pure Panel Pro with two 10'' wide screens provides the user with a modern cockpit experience. The new generation intuitive human-machine interface displays important functions such as battery charge status or range, while settings such as climate control can be easily made with the help of a button. All these functions, together with equipment such as class-leading adaptive IntelliLux LED® Pixel headlights with a total of 168 independent LED cells and 10 lighting modes, further increase driving safety.

Emotional, exciting and for the first time all electric
