DS Connected Pilot semi-autonomous driving assistant, named DS Drive Assist with its renewed radar sensor, provides one step closer to the journey to autonomous driving.
Visiopark7, which is only offered with DS Night Vision night vision assistant in DS 360 Crossback, and parking assist with front and rear cameras are included in the optional equipment list in the new DS 7 with improved camera resolution.
The daytime running lights in the new DS 7 draw inspiration from the work done on the DS X E-Tense and DS Aero Sport Lounge. In this technology, the light shines in the color of the body. DS Light Veil consists of a daytime running light and four vertical lighting units formed by 33 LED lights. By painting only the inner side of the laser-treated polycarbonate surface, it gives an appearance that changes between light and body colored parts. Thus, the effect of depth and shine is created like a jewel. DS Light Veil greets its driver with an animation during locking and unlocking.
Illumination up to 380 meters: DS Pixel Led Vision 3.0
DS Pixel Led Vision 3.0 replaces DS Active Led Vision Adaptive Led headlights by offering a new technology that adds an extra dimension to the model. The Pixel modules of the new DS 7 stand out by optimizing the management of the lighting power and retain the triple module approach found in each model as a design component of the DS Automobiles light signature.
The PIXEL function offers optimum lighting benefit. The luminous flux is stronger and more regular, with a range of up to 380 meters (high beam). At speeds less than 50 km/h the beam width is now set to 65 metres.
At the inner edge, two dipped beam modules illuminate the road together. On the outer edge, the Pixel high beam module consists of 84 LED lights in three rows. Lighting in bends is controlled by the intensity of the Pixel module's outer LED lights, depending on the angle of the steering wheel. This function, which previously required the mechanical movement of the headlight module, is now managed digitally.
DS Automobiles signature design details
DS Wings has been redesigned with a variety of color options depending on the model. The grille, which has a new look and is designed wider, is enriched with chrome-colored diamond motifs, glorifying the elegance of the front design. The curved, thinner and herringbone patterned LED backlight group has also been redesigned with glossy black decorations. While the trunk lid and logo have been redesigned with sharper lines, the name “DS Automobiles” now marks the visually wider rear design of the new DS 7.
Tires and wheels play an important role in the profile character of the new DS 7. New 19-inch Edinburgh wheels equipped with aerodynamic parts are offered as standard, while 20-inch Tokyo wheels are optional. The new DS 7 is offered in six different colours: New Pastel Gray and Pearlescent Sapphire Blue complement the range of metallic Platinum Grey, as well as the pearlescent options Perla Nera Black, Crystal Gray and Pearl White.
Technology is at the center once again with the DS Iris System

New DS 7 and technologies

-Active Scan Suspension is a camera-controlled suspension system that is completely unique in its class. Thanks to the technology that adjusts each wheel independently of each other according to the imperfections of the road, the "Flying Carpet" effect is experienced during the journey.
With its infrared camera, DS Night Vision can detect pedestrians, cyclists and animals on or beside the road up to 100 meters with its infrared camera placed on the grille. While the driver learns from the new high-resolution digital instrument cluster, he additionally receives a special warning in case of danger.
-DS Drive Assist takes a significant amount of load off the driver while increasing driving safety with 2nd level autonomous driving. Apart from the automatic adjustment of the driving speed to the cars in front, it also supports the driver to turn the corners in the right line in highway conditions. It can manage the movement of the car in stop-and-go traffic.
-DS Driver Attention Monitoring (Camera Assisted Driver Fatigue and Attention Assist) analyzes the driver's attention level via two cameras. While the first camera observes the movement of the car on the road it is driven, the second camera, which is positioned facing the driver, measures the level of sleep and attention by examining where the driver is looking, facial and eyelid movements. This feature maintains the title of being the only one in the segment. The second camera, which uses infrared technology, can continue to function behind sunglasses.
E-Tense technology in Formula E
With two doubles championships in Formula E, DS Automobiles is transferring E-Tense technology to mass production cars.
The new DS 7 E-Tense 4×4 300, with its 200 HP gasoline engine and electric motors producing 110 to 113 HP on the front and rear axles, enables fully electric driving up to 135 km/h. Completing 0-100 km/h acceleration in 5,9 seconds, the car has a CO28 emission of 2 g/km in hybrid use and fuel consumption measured as 1,2 lt/100 km according to mixed conditions (WLTP), as well as reaching 81 km ( WLTP EAER urban) and a range of up to 63 km (WLTP AER mixed conditions).
The charge level of the 7kWh battery used in the car, with an increased capacity compared to the DS 14,2 Crossback, can be completed from 7,4 to 2% in about 0 hours with a 100 kW wall charger.
The new DS 7 BlueHDi 130 has a turbocharged diesel engine using high-pressure direct injection. The 8-speed fully automatic transmission is offered as standard, with fuel consumption of 4 lt/100 km and CO2 emissions of 111 g/km in mixed conditions. This engine option, which is appreciated with its calm running character and advanced sound insulation, and its sound that reflects to the cabin at a minimum level, provides a smooth ride with its high torque of 300 Nm offered in a wide rev range.
The new DS 7 PureTech 225 has a turbocharged gasoline engine using high-pressure direct injection. The 8-speed automatic transmission is offered as standard, with fuel consumption of 5,3 lt/100 km and CO2 emissions of 130 g/km in mixed conditions. PureTech 225, one of the engines in which the volume reduction strategy is best exhibited, offers fuel economy in quiet driving and 225 horsepower when needed.
