Premium car manufacturer Lexus showcased its new technologies at the Kenshiki Forum, which was held for the fourth time this year, and shared the latest information about the Lexus Electrified roadmap.
Lexus, which develops hybrid and plug-in hybrid models as well as all-electric models, underlined at the forum that it will continue to keep the customer experience and driving excitement at the highest level, regardless of engine type. Among Lexus' innovations, an electric vehicle with a manual transmission was also shown.
“Unique driving experience with an electric with manual transmission”
Lexus has created a unique technology by pushing the boundaries of the driving experience in the electric world. Considering that for many passionate drivers, a manual transmission is an essential part of the fun driving experience, Lexus explored ways to adapt a manual transmission to an all-electric vehicle. In this context, a prototype was developed on the fully electric UX 300e SUV model and the gear lever and clutch pedal were adapted to the vehicle.
While the UX 300e remains a quiet all-electric model, it also carries the driving excitement of a manual transmission. The software-based system can be reprogrammed according to different vehicle types and can be used in the driver's preferred modes.

Taking a leading role in 2005 by introducing the hybrid RX 400h SUV model to the luxury car market, Lexus has been pushing the boundaries of technology on better performance and efficiency ever since. Among the innovative driving technologies transmitted at Kenshiki was the Electrified Sport concept. This particular concept embodies Lexus' vision of the future sports car with a fully electric powertrain. Electrified Sport also reveals the brand's plan to produce remarkable electric vehicles that push the boundaries in terms of performance.
Its streamlined design carries the identity of the new electric Lexus, inspired by speed and agility, and combines it with high power. The 0-100 km/h acceleration of the Electrified Sport is expected to be around 2 seconds.

Lexus offers superior battery technologies in its all-electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Batteries, which have been made more compact in order to provide advantages in weight, cost and volume, also provide higher energy efficiency.
Lexus offers a range of 450 km on a single charge with a 71.4 kWh battery in the RZ 440e SUV model developed in this context. It sets the standards in its segment with its energy efficiency of 100 kWh per 16.8 kilometers. Lexus, which guarantees high quality and long life in its batteries, zamAt the same time, it aims to maintain 10 percent capacity even after 90 years of use.
Lexus-exclusive DIRECT4 technology, which is one of the innovations that increases driving excitement, instantly balances the drive torque on the front and rear axles, providing optimum traction, uninterrupted acceleration and better cornering performance in all road conditions. In addition to better performance and handling, this system also brings better driving comfort, especially for the rear passengers.
However, One Motion Grip technology eliminates the mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels. In this way, it provides easier and more precise maneuvers and zamIt provides more dynamic driving in all conditions. It also helps the driver get clearer feelings from the steering wheel.
