Tesla plans to lay off 400 people at its Giga Berlin factory

In the statement made by Tesla, it was stated that the currently weakening demand for electric cars globally also faces difficulties for Tesla.

In the statement, it was stated that 400 people are planned to be laid off at Tesla's first factory in Europe, and this is intended to be done through a voluntary program rather than compulsory layoffs.

The statement also included information that negotiations were held with the labor board of the giga factory in Germany for voluntary layoffs.

More than 12 thousand people work at Tesla's Gruenheide facility. Last week, it was announced that the factory would part ways with approximately 300 temporary workers.

Tesla, owned by Elon Musk, announced this month that it would reduce its global workforce by approximately 10 percent.

TESLA SALES DECREASED

The number of vehicles delivered by Tesla in the first quarter of this year was 386 thousand 810. Market expectation was that this number would be around 450 thousand.

Tesla is expected to announce its first quarter financial results today.
