At a time when electric vehicle sales are falling and competition with Chinese car manufacturers is increasing, Tesla has made new discounts on electric vehicle prices.
According to the price lists on the company's website, Tesla reduced the starting price of the Model 3 in China by 14 thousand yuan (about 1932 dollars) to 231 thousand 900 yuan (about 32 thousand dollars).
Tesla also reduced the price of the rear-wheel drive Model 3 in Germany from 42 thousand 990 euros to 40 thousand 990 euros.
In the USA, the company reduced the prices of Model Y, Model X and Model S vehicles by 2 thousand dollars.
In the news in the US press, it was reported that Tesla also made price cuts in many other countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
SALES DECREASED FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2020
According to the vehicle production and delivery information for the first quarter of 2024 announced by Tesla in April, the company's car deliveries decreased by 8.5 percent in the first quarter compared to the same period last year, and the first decrease on an annual basis since 2020 was recorded.
While the number of vehicles delivered by Tesla in the first quarter of this year was 386 thousand 810, this number was well below market expectations of around 450 thousand. The company delivered 422 thousand 875 vehicles in the same period last year.
MILLION DISCOUNT IN TURKEY
Tesla, whose price has increased in Turkey while its price has decreased in the world in the last year, has taken a step to make the vehicle price cheaper in Turkey.
In this context, the price of the cheapest Tesla in Turkey has decreased by approximately 1 million TL.
The rear-wheel drive version of Model Y, the only car of the US brand in the country, entered the 10 percent Special Consumption Tax zone with the update made to its battery and engine power. Thus, the price of the car dropped from 2.7 million TL to below 1.8 million TL.
In the statement made by Tesla, it was said: "As a result of the satisfactory level of our infrastructure works, which we have attached great importance to since the first moment we arrived in Turkey, we are adding this new version to our Model Y range."
