Is Tesla's Autopilot Technology Safe? A Former Employee Speaks

Tesla is one of the world's leading companies in driverless vehicle technology. However, a former employee of the company claimed that Tesla's autopilot software is unsafe and dangerous to test on public roads. Speaking to the BBC, former service technician Lukasz Krupski revealed flaws in Tesla's artificial intelligence.

He Says He Was Fired From Tesla

Lukasz Krupski said that while he was working as a service technician at Tesla, he expressed concerns about the safety of using the autopilot software. However, he claimed that he was dismissed because of this. Krupski later shared Tesla's internal correspondence and several accident reports with the German business newspaper Handelsblatt. These documents claimed that Tesla's autopilot software was faulty and caused accidents.

Autopilot Software Not Ready

Krupski told the BBC that Tesla's autopilot software is not ready yet and it is dangerous to test it on public roads. “I don't think the hardware and software are ready,” Krupski said. This is a situation that concerns all of us, because we carry out tests on public roads. "Even if you don't have a Tesla, it affects you because your kids are still walking on the sidewalk." said. Krupski also stated that working at Tesla affected his health and said, "Sometimes I have a hard time sleeping at night." he said.

Tesla Under Investigation

Tesla's autopilot software is under investigation by various agencies, including the U.S. Department of Justice and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Many accidents have been reported to occur while Tesla's autopilot software was active. In some cases, images of drivers distracted or sleeping have also emerged.

Tesla, on the other hand, did not directly respond to the claims of its former employee Krupski. But Elon Musk, the company's founder and CEO, posted on his social platform X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday: "Tesla has by far the best AI in the real world."
