Making Kocaeli bright with the modern lighting system it implemented, the Metropolitan Municipality achieved significant power savings in 2023 with the new system. Teams from the Building Inspection Department's Power, Lighting and Mechanical Works Branch Directorate, which installed a contemporary and smart lighting system on almost all streets of the city in order to enable citizens to walk more comfortably and safely at night, gave the streets an aesthetic and sparkling image with the decorative lighting poles they installed. The new system implemented by metropolitan groups both saved power and offered more light.
LED ARMATURE AND LED PROJECTOR REPLACEMENT
Building Inspection Department Power, Lighting and Mechanical Works Branch Directorate teams saved power by replacing LED fixtures and LED projectors in areas such as football fields, astroturf pitches, basketball and volleyball fields, car parks, walking paths, coastal landscaping, parks and Derince tunnel. Thus, approximately 2023 Kw/h of power was saved in 1.250.000.
SMART LIGHTING SYSTEM
In 2023, the Metropolitan Municipality installed a smart lighting system in areas heavily used by citizens throughout Kocaeli. Within the framework of smart city lighting works, poles that had completed their economic life in Sekapark were replaced, and a smart lighting system was transitioned to new poles and luminaires with nema sockets. With smart lighting, fixtures can be turned on and off remotely, lighting is provided at different levels, and information such as current-power-location-fault status can be accessed instantly.
