Lancia Ypsilon Returns to Europe

Lancia is preparing to enter the electric car market assertively. After bidding farewell to internal combustion engines with Emira, the brand introduced electric sports cars such as Eletre and Emeya. The brand, which is also planning an electric crossover and a sports car, is also investing in charging infrastructure. Ypsilon, the only remaining model of the brand, is expanding to Europe with its new generation.

Ypsilon Will Be an Electric City Car

Ypsilon was a model sold only in Italy with its 2011rd generation produced since 3. Built on the Mini platform, the model was a 3-door city car. However, with its new generation, Ypsilon will have both 5 doors and an electric engine option. Ypsilon will be introduced in February as a limited series of 1906 units and will be available in the summer. The model will be sold both in Italy and other countries in Europe.

The electric version of Ypsilon will be able to reach a range of 450 km in 5 minutes at a new charging station with a power output of 142 kW. In addition, the 10-80 percent charging time of the model will be reduced to 20 minutes. In addition to being electric, Ypsilon will also have an internal combustion engine option. This engine will be a 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine.

Ypsilon Will Reflect Lancia's New Identity

Ypsilon, along with Lancia's new generation, will also reflect the brand's new identity. Lancia aims to cease being an entry-level brand and become a rival to brands like Audi in the premium league. Therefore, Ypsilon's design, material quality, equipment and technology will also be at a high level.

Lancia prepared a series of 1906 units for the promotion of Ypsilon. This number refers to the year the brand was founded. In addition, Ypsilon's interior bears the signature of Italy's famous flooring company, Cassina. Lancia aims to create an atmosphere that "feels like home" with Ypsilon.

After Ypsilon, Lancia will launch a fully electric sedan model named Gamma in 2026 and a hatchback model named Delta in 2028. Lancia continues its efforts to become an assertive player in the electric car market.
