Honda Civic Hybrid Returns in America!

Honda announced that it will re-launch the hybrid version of the Civic in the American market. The new model will expand Honda's electric vehicle range with sedan and hatchback options. The new Civic Hybrid will begin production at Honda plants in Canada and Indiana in the spring of 2022.

Technical Specifications of the New Civic Hybrid

The new Civic Hybrid will be equipped with Honda's two-motor electric powertrain. This system will be produced at the Honda Transmission Plant in Ohio. In addition, the vehicle's 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle gasoline engine will be produced at the Anna Engine Plant in Ohio.

Honda has not yet shared the power and torque values ​​of the new Civic Hybrid. However, it is known that the vehicle with the same system sold in Europe produces 181 horsepower (135 kilowatts) and 315 Newton-meters of torque. This system is combined with Honda's e-CVT transmission.

The new Civic Hybrid is expected to have lower power output than the hybrid engine used in the Accord Hybrid model. Accord Hybrid can produce 204 horsepower (152 kW) and 334 Nm of torque.

Design and Equipment of the New Civic Hybrid

The new Civic Hybrid will be offered with sedan and hatchback body options. The sedan version will be produced at the Ontario plant in Canada, while the hatchback version will be produced at the Indiana Auto Plant in Indiana.
