BYD Dolphin is Coming to Turkey! Here is the Price and Features

Chinese automobile manufacturer BYD is preparing to enter the Turkish market. BYD Dolphin, the brand's cheapest electric model, was introduced in Istanbul. Located in the C-hatchback segment, the car is built on an inherently electric platform called e-Platform 3.0. All the details about the car's design, performance, range and price are in our news.

Design and Dimensions of BYD Dolphin

BYD Dolphin has a design with more rounded lines, unlike other models of the brand. The front of the car has a large grille, LED headlights and fog lamps. On the side profile, fenders, door handles and rims that offer a sporty look attract attention. At the rear, horizontal LED taillights, a spoiler on the trunk lid and a bumper with a diffuser stand out.

When we look at the dimensions of BYD Dolphin, we see that it is 4290 mm long, 1770 mm wide, 1570 mm high and 2700 mm axle distance. With these values, the car is quite compact compared to its competitors in the C-hatchback segment. In addition, the wheelbase of the car has a very good ratio compared to its height, thanks to its inherently electric platform.

Performance and Range of BYD Dolphin

BYD Dolphin will be available in four different versions: Active, Boost, Comfort and Design. The engine powers of these versions vary between 70 kW and 150 kW. Torque values ​​have not been announced yet. The top speed of the car is limited between 150 km/h and 160 km/h, depending on the version. Design, the most powerful version of BYD Dolphin, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds.

BYD Dolphin uses blade-type battery cells with lithium iron phosphate chemistry, which the brand also uses in other models. These batteries are both safer and longer lasting. The car offers two different battery options: 44.9 kWh and 60.4 kWh. According to the WLTP norm, the range of the car is announced as 427 km on average with the large battery. In urban use, this value can go up to 565 km.

BYD Dolphin's Price and Arrival in Turkey

The starting price of BYD Dolphin in Germany is determined as 30.990 euros. However, the arrival date and price of the car in Turkey have not been clarified yet. Brand officials state that the car can be produced in Turkey and its price will be competitive. The car is expected to be offered for sale in Turkey in 2024.
