Renault opposes the SUV craze with the new Grand Kangoo

Renault is determined to keep multi-purpose vehicles alive with the new Grand Kangoo, which offers maximum usability at an affordable price for those who are not into the SUV frenzy. The model is based on the third-generation Kangoo introduced in 2020 and features a modular interior that includes seven seats.

The 2024 Grand Kangoo stands out as one of the most versatile vehicles attending this year's IAA Mobility show. You can also convert this model into a pickup truck by removing the three middle row seats and the two rear row seats. This process increases the loading capacity from 500 liters with all seats installed to an astonishing 3,750 liters with the front passenger seat folded down.

In the cabin, it is possible to store 3.11 meters long items. The interior has over 58 liters of storage, including a slide-out drawer and storage areas under the second row seats. The flat roofline on the rear seats provides plenty of headroom for the rear passengers and offers 164mm of legroom.

The Grand Kangoo is expected to offer different glass coating options, making it a very suitable option for families.

Engine options include petrol, diesel and electric powertrains. The electric version, the Grand Kangoo E-Tech, has a lithium-ion battery pack with a usable capacity of 45 kWh and offers a range of 265 kilometers on the WLTP cycle.

The battery, whose charge is exhausted, can add a range of 80 kilometers in 27 minutes or 170 kilometers in 10 minutes thanks to 80 kW of power. Using an AC charger, the battery can be charged to 10% to 80% charge in 2 hours and 40 minutes. The battery pack is warranted for eight years, or 160.000 kilometers, and Renault undertakes to replace it free of charge if its capacity drops below 70% during that time.
