T-Roc, Volkswagen's best-selling model, started to have supply problems in Europe due to the production stoppage.

According to data compiled by market analysts JATO and Dataforce, the T-Roc ranked first in terms of sales among all Volkswagen models sold in Europe in the first half of 2023. However, it was the most popular car across the continent of Europe in July.

Production of the T-Roc is due to a shortage of engine parts as stated by Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA). The news agency received a letter addressed to 5,000 workers sent to the Autoeuropa factory in Setubal, near Lisbon. Compact crossover – same zamcurrently has a convertible body style – starting at some point in the first half of September it will be interrupted for several weeks.

VW, which produced 231,100 T-Rocs last year, has revealed spy footage showing it testing the second-generation model. The Wolfsburg-based automaker has announced that the new T-Roc will be one of the company's last petrol-powered new cars, along with the Passat introduced this week. The new Tiguan, which will arrive later this year, falls in the same category, as does the seven-seat Tayron model that will come later.

DPA thinks other models may also be affected by the lack of parts. A supplier producing engine parts for T-Roc is believed to have been affected by the flooding in Slovenia. The C-segment crossover T-Roc uses the MQB platform based on many other VW Group products, so other models risk the same fate.
