Ferrari's young talent, Charles Leclerc, thinks that the race in Monza may be difficult for them. Throughout the season, Ferrari showed a strong performance in some races, while falling below expectations in others. However, their performance in Monza seems to have given Leclerc hope.
What Monza Taught
The track at Monza is a place where low downforce is important and seeing Ferrari being stronger on such tracks has boosted Leclerc's morale. “We learned a lot at Monza, especially about our weaknesses,” says Leclerc. “It confirmed that we are stronger on low downforce tracks, which means this weekend will be a little more difficult.”
However, the experiences they gained at Monza will help Ferrari not only for this race, but also when designing next year's car. “We learned a lot in Zandvoort and Monza,” said Leclerc. While I don't think it will radically change our season, it is a good thing for the current season. "It's a good step forward for us," he says, adding that he is hopeful for next year.
Vehicle of the Future
When Leclerc was asked about the impact of the 2024 car, he said: "First of all, the 2024 project is very different from our car this year." He states that as drivers, they reported the weaknesses of this year's vehicle and the engineers continue their work. Leclerc says the new car will be quite different and therefore he expects to test it quickly in the simulator.

While he states that they are strong in low downforce, he explains that they are more inconsistent in high downforce and hopefully they can be at least the second strongest team.
