Audi announced its entry into F1 and has been preparing ever since. However, the fact that CEO Markus Duesmann will be stepping down soon and the project is progressing with a delay indicate that some problems may arise.

On the Sauber side, there is not much of a concern. The team plans to spend the next two seasons in preparation for the Audi era and argues that everything is going well.

Speaking to Autosport, Sauber CEO Frédéric Alunni Bravi said: “I am glad that the Audi project is proceeding in secrecy. We do not disclose such information [publicly].” said.

Alunni Bravi said the program is on the right track and they are working hard to develop the team over the next two seasons. He said they knew there were constraints associated with the budget cap, but together with Andreas Seidl they addressed all their weaknesses and seize the best opportunities in the market to improve their facilities.

Alunni Bravi also commented on Duesmann's dismissal. “The Audi project is a project for the whole company, not just one person, and I can say it was welcomed at all levels.” said.

Alunni Bravi said, “So I think there will be no change. We are working hard together to be ready for the 2026 season.” said.

Alunni Bravi said the process was not easy. He said they have very strong opponents and they have to give their best every day.

Alunni Bravi said, “I think the competition in the 2026 season will be really strong. That's why we just need to focus on our work. Duesmann's departure did not change anything.” said.
