Marquez: "My accident won't hurt my self-confidence"

Eight-time World Champion Marc Marquez had a tough time in the first half of the 2023 season. He scored only 14 points in eight races, in which he missed five races and crashed 15 times.

This put his continued future at Honda in jeopardy. Although Silverstone said over the weekend that his 'intent' was to end his current contract, Marquez has not changed his approach and pushed for results. He just tried to create a better setting on his RC213V. This resulted in him being 14th in the standings and 18th in the sprint.

But Marquez thinks his approach is useful. He had 'unlucky' contact with Ducati's Enea Bastianini and climbed all the way to 10th before retiring from the race.

On Sunday, Marquez said: “Good, I'm happy today.”

“I am happy for the weekend because our goal was to rebuild our self-confidence and try to find our base.”

“I have rebuilt my self-confidence, but we need more races, more racetracks, different situations to find the foundation. But the weekend was solid and stable.”

Marquez's approach could help him achieve better results in the future. However, he still has a long road ahead of him.
