Cadillac unveils Escalade IQ
Cadillac introduced the Escalade IQ. The IQ is the electric version of Cadillac's flagship SUV and can offer a range of 720 km.
The IQ is built on the scalable Ultium EV platform and has a 24-module battery. The battery offers twice the capacity of the 102.0 kWh Lyriq SUV.
The IQ uses 800 volt electrical architecture and has a maximum DC charging speed of 350 kilowatts. Cadillac says the IQ model will provide a range of 350 km on a 10-minute charge on a public 160 kW charger.
The IQ has standard all-wheel drive with a magnetic dual electric motor and delivers 680 horsepower and 830 Nm of torque in normal driving mode. These numbers increase to 750 horsepower and 1,064 Nm of torque when put into Velocity Max mode.
The Cadillac Escalade IQ has yet to be officially rated by the EPA, but if it can reach the automaker's estimated range of 720 km, it will be the SUV with the longest range.
The Escalade IQ is an important part of Cadillac's electric vehicle strategy. Cadillac aims to convert its entire product line to electric vehicles by 2025. Escalade IQ is an important step towards achieving this goal.
