Acura officially unveils its new electric ZDX

Acura has been relatively slow in the EV transition, but as of today, that's changing. Acura's first all-electric model, the ZDX, is officially introduced. The high-driving model can also compete with its rivals with BMW and Mercedes-Benz logos on the performance wing.

Rising on GM's Ultium platform, the model has a single battery option. The 102 kWh battery can be paired with a single or double motor. While the standard model can offer a range of approximately 550 km, this figure drops to 506 km in the twin-engine performance version.

The Ultium architecture will also give the ZDX super fast charging. Supporting fast charging up to 190 kW, the model will offer a range of more than 10 km with a 100-minute charge at these charging stations.

The most powerful model, named ZDX Type S, has come to be Acura's most powerful SUV. This specific equipment, which offers 500 hp of power, will continue to use the 102 kWh battery. However, this extra power has also eaten away from the model's range. Type S has a range of only 465 km.

But don't let this bother you, because Type S comes with its own special equipment. For example, in this specific model, equipment such as adjustable air suspensions, 6-piston Brembo brakes and yellow brake calipers are standard.

Standard equipment includes an 11-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This system will be able to work with Google Assistant. Users will also be able to take advantage of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features.

The deliveries of the models that will go on sale next year will start in the last days of 2024.
