Two Goodyear employees die at Nürburgring
According to the statements of the German newspaper Merkur, a terrible accident took place at the Nürburgring on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. Two Goodyear employees died in this accident involving industrial test vehicles.
The accident happened on Wednesday morning. Goodyear employees from Luxembourg had an accident while performing a tire test. One of those killed in the crash was identified as 39-year-old test pilot Christan Franck. The other name was not shared.
It is known that the accident took place in the vicinity of Tiergarten. Accelerating on the Döttinger Hohe straight, the duo are believed to have lost control of the car before reaching the corners.
The Road & Track team managed to get a statement from Goodyear Germany. While the tire supplier confirmed the accident, he underlines that the causes of the accident are currently being investigated. Goodyear also expressed its condolences to the families and relatives of those who lost their lives in the accident.
In the statement from the Porsche wing, it was stated that only the vehicle involved in the accident was known as a Porsche. A more comprehensive statement is expected in the coming days.

“During the brand tests at the Nürburgring on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, a serious accident occurred in which two people died. A vehicle involved in the tests was involved in an accident on the Tiergarten section of the track. Although rescue efforts were started immediately, two people inside the vehicle were also killed.”
