Opel Will Offer Electric Versions Of All Its Models in 2024

Opel takes the electrification movement to a new dimension. In this context, Opel is preparing to offer an electric version in all its models as of 2024.

Making innovative technology and superior German engineering accessible, Opel continues to strengthen its leading position in the change of the industry. Accelerating its efforts in the transition to electric cars, the brand is preparing to spread the electrification movement to its entire product range. The brand, which recently electrified the "Şimşek" logo, aims to offer electrified versions of all its models in 2024. By 2028, Opel expects to offer a product line consisting only of electric cars in Europe.

The first step will be taken with Crossland

The first step in Opel's new move will be Crossland, the brand's successful player in the B-SUV segment, whose new generation will be introduced in 2024. With the new 2024% electric Crossland model, which it is preparing to launch in 100, Opel will have taken another important step towards becoming an all-electric brand. This means that every model in the lightning logo brand's product line will have a battery-electric version early next year.

Providing information on the subject, Opel CEO Florian Huettl said, "While we will offer the pleasure of electric driving in our entire product range with the new Crossland, on the other hand, we will offer our customers the option of emission-free transportation in each of our models."

Grandland will also be electrified

In its current form, all-electric Opel models have a rich variety. The product range of the brand in this area; The Rocks Electric ranges from Combo-e Life and Zafira-e Life to all-electric versions of the Corsa and Mokka. The new Astra Elektrik, which was opened to order, also joined these vehicles. This series will be followed by the all-electric follower of the compact SUV Grandland next year. There are also battery electric versions of the light commercial vehicle product range, which consists of Rocks Electric Cargo, Combo-e, Vivaro-e and Movano-e. Opel's electric vehicle range also includes fully electric, locally emission-free solutions.

These include the dynamic top models of Opel's new sub-brand GSe. Astra GSe, Astra Sports Tourer GSe and Grandland GSe (average fuel consumption according to WLTP: 1,2-1,1 l/100 km, CO2 emissions 28-25 g/km) offer 221 kW/300 HP maximum power and 520 Nm maximum torque. In addition, GSe versions are equipped with special springs and shock absorbers with KONI FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) technology.

Investment continues in hydrogen

While accelerating its work on electric vehicle technology, Opel continues to lead the development of hydrogen fuel cell commercial vehicles. Vivaro-e HYDROGEN, which is on the road as of today, will be followed by a large fuel cell commercial vehicle in 2024. Apart from this, 48V hybrids will also be included in the Opel electric product range in the future.

The new Opel Corsa will make the start. The new vehicle will hit the roads with 74 kW/100 HP and 100 kW/136 HP engines, a new dual-clutch automatic transmission. The new Corsa will provide a wide variety of powertrain options, from fully battery-electric to hybrid, as well as highly efficient internal combustion engines. Opel will thus have the capacity to offer 15 electrified models by the end of this year. The brand with the Şimşek logo also commits to having an all-electric product portfolio in Europe by 2028.
