As one of the winners of the tender opened by Italy-based public procurement institution Consip, Karsan signed a new framework contract for 320 and 6 meter electric lots, covering a total of 8 units. With this framework agreement, Karsan aims to receive new e-JEST and e-ATAK orders from operators in Italy in the coming period.

At the end of 2022, Karsan won the tender held by Consip, an Italian-based public procurement service provider.

Karsan spread increases in Italy

Playing a leading role in transforming public transportation into electric transportation in Italy, Karsan has won one of the biggest tenders in the country. Karsan aims to receive new e-JEST and e-ATAK orders within the scope of the 6-month framework agreement signed with Consip for the purchase of 8 and 18 meters electric vehicles. Karsan, which currently serves in many different cities from the north to the south of Italy, such as Verona, Legnago, Sendrio, Alghero, Olbia, Catania, Catanzaro, with 34 electric vehicles, aims to expand its spread in the country with new orders.

Saying that they continue to play a pioneering role in the transformation of public transportation in Europe, Karsan CEO Okan Baş said, “Our vehicles that have proven themselves are in high demand in the world, especially in Europe. Karsan e-JEST has been the best-selling electric minibus in Europe for the last 3 years without interruption. e-ATAK, on ​​the other hand, has been holding the leadership for two years in its segment in Europe. In 2023, our vehicles continue to run towards leadership.”

Stating that Karsan has entered the Italian market with its electric vehicles, Okan Baş said, “As of today, 34 electric vehicles are on the road in Italy, one of our main markets. We aim to increase our electric vehicle park in Italy to more than 200 with both our current orders and the new orders we will receive under this framework contract. Karsan is one of the most preferred brands in the electric transformation of Europe's public transportation. With this new tender, we will continue our strong growth in Italy, one of our target markets.”
