The Special Olympics Turkey team, sponsored by Toyota Turkey, successfully completed the Special Olympics World Summer Games held in Berlin on 25 June.

The Special Olympics, supported by Toyota to realize a world where everyone moves freely and to offer equal mobility opportunities to everyone, once again underlined the unifying power of sports. 16 thousand athletes from 190 countries participated in the 7th World Summer Games. In the organization that lasted for 7 days, the Special Olympics Turkey under the main sponsorship of Toyota Turkey competed with a total of 3 athletes, 3 women and 4 men, in 7X11 mixed basketball, swimming, athletics and bocce branches.

Special Olympics Turkey won five medals, two gold, one silver and two bronze, at the Berlin 17 Special Olympics Games, which started with a magnificent ceremony on June 2023.

Ayşe Başaran, one of our athletes competing in the Special Olympics, stood for gold in the long jump and 100-meter running branches; The basketball team is silver in 3×3 Mixed Basketball; Alper Aydoğdu stood by and brought bronze medals to Turkey in the long jump and Fatmanur Gündüz Bocce Women's Singles.

In addition, Alper Aydoğdu placed fifth in the 100-meter running branch of Athletics and Kübra Esen became fifth in the 100-meter backstroke. All the athletes who could not get a degree were appreciated by receiving a participation medal as a result of their struggles in the special Olympics.
