Work continues for the 2024 World Rally Championship calendar. Normally, the number of rallies was planned to increase to 14 starting next season, but plans for Saudi Arabia to enter the calendar as a desert rally have been delayed to the 2025 season.

Saudi Arabia is expected to host a pilot rally in Jeddah next season, with the rally expected to be on the Middle East Rally Championship calendar.

Which rallies will be on the calendar next season was actually pretty clear, as Monte Carlo, Sweden, Portugal, Greece, Kenya, Sardinia, Lithuania and Chile have already agreed with the series management.

Rally Finland, which extended its contract for three more years last week and guaranteed its place in the series until the 2026 season, joined these rallies.

Finland's secure spot as well has left only four vacancies for the 2024 season.

It is certain that Japan will fill one of these gaps, as well as Croatia and the Central European Rally, which we will see on the calendar for the first time this year, are said to be in a strong position.

According to Autosport's sources, the biggest candidate for the last vacancy is Poland, which could replace the out-of-contract Rally Mexico.

Another target of the WRC management is the USA, the series has long been known to be eager to enter the North American market.

The USA rally, which is expected to be held in Chattanooga, Tennessee, can be on the calendar starting from the 2025 season, and the parties have started working.
