Organized by the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Society and Haydar Aliyev International Cultural Center in cooperation with Bilim Turkey, BİLİMFEST Cyprus was held in Alsancak Freedom National Park with great participation. The festival was organized to commemorate the birth of the legendary leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and the centennial of the founding of the Turkish Republic. BİLİMFEST Cyprus is the first science festival in Northern Cyprus for children, aiming to increase children's interest in science, develop their sense of curiosity and support their scientific thinking skills.
GÜNSEL, the national and domestic car of Northern Cyprus, was also exhibited at the festival and was met with great interest. GÜNSEL is a 100 percent electric car, all processes from design to engineering, from software to battery pack, completed in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It was emphasized that there is no limit to what can be achieved in Northern Cyprus with the achievements of GÜNSEL.
After the opening in Alsancak, BİLİMFEST Cyprus will continue to meet with children with science tents, technology stands and Mobile Science and Technology Truck at Haydar Aliyev International Cultural Center in Lapta. The purpose of the festival was to inspire children and support their scientific curiosity.
The Board of Trustees of the Near East Organization, the creator of GÜNSEL, and the Chairman of the GÜNSEL Board of Directors, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel stated that they want to inspire children by taking part in the festival. Same zamcurrently Prof. Dr. Günsel emphasized the importance of the fact that this meaningful event, in which the flags of Turkey, Azerbaijan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus flutter side by side, is being organized to commemorate the birth of the legendary leader of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, and the centennial of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey. It was stated that GÜNSEL's mass production preparations continue and it will appear on the roads of the world, especially the Turkish world.
