Charging Station Offering 5 km Range in 142 Minutes from Lotus

Lotus is preparing to make an ambitious entry into the electric car market. The brand said goodbye to internal combustion engines with Emira and introduced electric sports cars such as Eletre and Emeya. The brand, which is also planning an electric crossover and a sports car, is also investing in charging infrastructure.

Lotus announced its new charging station. This charging station aims to eliminate “charging anxiety” with its 450 kW power output. The liquid-cooled system provides a very fast charging process in compatible models.

For example, the Eletre R model can reach a range of 5 km in just 142 minutes at this charging station. This means better performance than Tesla's models, which offer a range of 3 km in 5 minutes at Supercharger V120 stations.

The liquid-cooled fast charging station reduces the 10-80 percent charging time of Eletre R to 20 minutes. Lotus plans to place these charging stations in recreational facilities. In this way, it offers a capacity to charge 4 cars at the same time.

Lotus' new charging stations were first launched in China. The stations, which will spread to Europe and the Middle East in 2024, will begin to appear in other countries. Lotus aims to maintain the performance it offers in its electric cars at charging stations.
