Founder August Horch[1]

The company's history dates back to 1899 and August Horch. The first Horch car was designed by him in 1901. In 1910 Horsche was thrown out of the company and could not use his name in his designs due to disagreements with his former partners. Its meaning in Old German is "Listen!" "Horch", which means the same thing in Latin, started using Audi as its own brand.
