A training project is being initiated in Bornova to ensure that the industrial site tradesmen are able to maintain and repair electric cars. Opinions were exchanged on the creation of a training area so that the industrial site tradesmen can also take part in the service services to be given to the electric vehicles, the number of which is increasing rapidly in Turkey.

The meeting held at the 3rd Industrial Site R&D Center was attended by Bornova Mayor Mustafa İduğ, İzmir Chamber of Craftsmen and Craftsmen's Union President Zekeriya Mutlu, İzmir Chamber of Commerce Assembly and Automotive Committee Member Kenan Altınuşak, İzmir Chamber of Auto Mechanic's President Necdet Heppekcan, Bülent Worker, Chairman of Bornova Auto Repairers Chamber, attended.

At the meeting, where the importance of education infrastructure was emphasized so that the maintenance and repair of electric cars could be carried out by the shopkeepers of the industrial site, Bornova Mayor Mustafa İduğ stated that the batteries of electric vehicles are the factors that take the charge and the 2.5-hour charging time delays mass use. Recalling that 2022 new electric car brands were established in China only in 110, President İduğ said, “This is why all kinds of preparations and training on electric cars are very important. As Bornova Municipality, we are ready to give our best support to increase the educated workforce.”

Zekeriya Mutlu, President of the Union of Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen of Izmir, said that they aim to provide training in Izmir, which will enable the training of personnel who can repair new generation electric vehicles. Saying that they want to carry this new project to a point where those interested in the repair and maintenance of electric vehicles from all industrial sets of İzmir will own it, Mutlu said, “We have given training to those coming from 3 provinces from the 52rd Industrial Site R&D Center, which we are currently in. This new project we are working on will be a first in Turkey," he said.

At the meeting, where the technical requirements for the maintenance and repair of electric vehicles and the criteria for physical conditions were discussed, it was decided to accelerate the preparations for the start of the training area.
