German automotive giant Volkswagen has officially announced the ID. Cross, the newest member of its electric vehicle family. Positioned as an electric alternative to the brand's popular internal combustion compact SUV model T-Cross, the ID. Cross will be a key component of Volkswagen's affordable electric vehicle strategy aimed at reaching a wide audience.

Spacious Living Area and Modern Infrastructure in a Compact Size

Built on Volkswagen's updated MEB+ platform, the ID. Cross promises a spacious and airy interior despite its compact exterior dimensions. With a wheelbase of 2.601 mm, the vehicle offers efficient living space thanks to its flat-floor integrated battery placement. Featuring the company's new generation console design, the model reintroduces physical buttons and provides a boot capacity of 475 liters, 20 liters more than the T-Cross model. With this new move, Volkswagen aims to further strengthen its competitive position in the rapidly growing small electric SUV market, particularly in Europe.

Two Different Battery Options and Powerful Performance Options

The new ID. Cross offers users WLTP range values varying between 312 and 436 kilometers, depending on battery choice. The entry-level version features a cost-effective 37 kWh LFP battery, while higher-end versions promising longer range utilize 52 kWh NMC battery technology. In terms of power, customers will be offered three different power options: 85 kW, 99 kW, and 155 kW. This front-wheel-drive electric SUV can reach a maximum speed of 175 kilometers per hour and boasts a towing capacity of 1.200 kilograms.

Fast Charging Time and Technological Features

ID. Cross more than meets modern expectations with its charging speed and practical technological features. Thanks to DC fast charging support, the vehicle can reach a charge level of 80% from 10% in as little as 23-24 minutes. In addition, thanks to Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) support, which allows electricity to be transferred from the vehicle, users can power their electrical devices directly from the vehicle battery during camping or outdoor activities.

It will hit the roads this autumn with an attractive starting price.

The Volkswagen ID. Cross is expected to be launched in the European market with a highly competitive price tag, starting at around €28. The entry-level Trend package is scheduled to launch in mid-October, while the higher-spec Life and Style packages are available for pre-order starting at €36.525. This accessible pricing makes the new model one of the brand's most affordable electric SUV options. Deliveries of the new generation ID. Cross on European roads are planned to begin in autumn 2026.
