The first Dacia model to be produced in Türkiye: Striker - OtonomHaber

At the end of 2023, it was announced that OYAK and Renault Group would invest €400 million in Türkiye, and that this investment would result in the production of four models in Türkiye, three of which would be SUVs. In its 2030 strategic plan announced in March, Dacia stated that it would expand its C-segment product range with the Striker. The new Dacia Striker, which represents both the final stage of the €400 million investment and a significant step in the 2030 strategic plan, was unveiled for the first time in Milan, Italy.

The Dacia Striker, produced at the Oyak Renault Automobile Factories in Bursa and to be exported from Türkiye to many countries including Europe, stands out not only for its versatile driving characteristics but also for the contribution it will make to the Turkish economy and automotive industry. Dacia plans for this new model to play a significant role in reaching new retail and commercial customers. The Mild Hybrid-G 140 and Hybrid 155 versions of the Striker will have a local content rate of over 40%, thus providing a significant advantage in terms of Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV).

The Dacia Striker is a very important model in terms of the brand's overall goals. Designed as a crossover that carries Dacia's DNA, the Striker will support the brand's aim to increase the C segment's share of total sales to 33% by 2030.

The Dacia Striker combines the best aspects of three different automotive worlds in one C-segment crossover: the high driving position and off-road capabilities of an SUV, the versatility and comfort of a station wagon, and the efficiency and performance of a sedan.

The name “Striker” is a universal expression meaning “to hit the target.” Reflecting Dacia’s ambitions and its ability to overcome new challenges, this name shapes the character of this new Dacia model with its visually striking and impressive features in many ways.

With the Striker model, Dacia invites C-segment customers to discover a new interpretation of the crossover world. Offering more than just a combination of different classes, it responds to the expectations of today's users for diverse needs. By combining the performance of a sedan, the interior space of a station wagon, and the powerful design of an SUV, it provides a more comprehensive response to today's requirements.

The Dacia Striker is set to go on sale in Türkiye in December 2026.

Bahaettin TATOĞLU, Chairman and General Manager of MAİS A.Ş. The Dacia Striker is being produced in Türkiye as the final stage of the €400 million investment we announced three years ago in partnership with OYAK and Renault Group. Within the scope of this investment, we took a major step towards the production of four of our domestic models at the Oyak Renault Automobile Factories. This journey, which began with the Renault Duster, continued with the New Renault Clio and Renault Boreal. Now, we are preparing to offer our customers the Striker model, which will be the flagship of our Dacia brand.

Dacia is a brand that combines economical running costs with comfort and driving pleasure. It constantly updates its products with the features a car should truly have, incorporating evolving technology, and offers smart solutions, providing excellent value for money to meet its customers' needs.

The renewed Dacia product range offers accessible mobility with models to suit every budget. The Dacia Striker is significant both as the first Dacia model produced in Türkiye and as the first crossover model in the product range. This new model represents a crucial step towards achieving the goals we aim to reach with the Dacia brand. With the Striker, we will reach brand new customers, further strengthen Dacia's presence, and bring its market share to the level it deserves. In this way, we will take Dacia to a completely different position both in Türkiye and in the world.”

Lionel JAILLET, CEO of Renault Group Türkiye: As Oyak Renault, with our plan announced at the end of 2023, which includes an investment of 400 million Euros and the production of four new models, we have laid out a strong and clear transformation roadmap for Turkey. We started this transformation journey with the Renault Duster, continued it with the New Renault Clio, and recently brought it to an important stage with the Renault Boreal, which has hit Turkish roads.

Today, I am delighted to announce the fourth and strategically crucial model of this plan. We will be producing our new C-segment model, the Dacia Striker, at our Oyak Renault factory in Bursa. Thanks to this project, Turkey will become, for the first time, the sole global production center for a Dacia model. This also represents a significant step in strengthening Dacia's presence in Türkiye, transforming the brand from a purely import-dependent entity into a strategic player with local production capabilities.

The Dacia Striker product range will be offered in a wide variety of options, including hybrid, Hybrid 4x4, and petrol/LPG engine variants. The Dacia Striker Hybrid combines performance and efficiency at the highest level, offering a highly efficient driving experience. At the heart of this technology is the HR18 hybrid engine, manufactured by Oyak Horse at our Bursa factory and exported to global markets.

With the commissioning of production, Oyak Renault's multi-model production capability will reach a new level in terms of flexibility and performance. This development will also make a strong contribution to the growth and operational excellence targets set by the Renault Group within the scope of its futuREAdy strategy. Thanks to our strong cooperation with OYAK, we will continue to resolutely advance our production and engineering capabilities and add sustainable value to the Turkish automotive ecosystem.”

AN INNOVATIVE “HYBRID” DESIGN CONCEPT

The Dacia Striker was designed with a focus on both performance and aerodynamics. Inspired by the elegant silhouettes of sedan and station wagon models, its horizontal lines blend with the characteristic vertical lines of SUV design. The exterior design of the Dacia Striker is shaped by a distinctive shoulder line that connects the front and rear light clusters and extends along the body. This line forms the main character of the design.

The contours above the shoulder line create a fluid and aerodynamic structure. The sloping windscreen, extended roofline, and angled rear window integrate to create an elegant and dynamic profile. This section reflects the brand's modern character, inspired by the elegance of sedan and station wagon body types, focusing on basic needs with a simple, clear, and efficient approach. The contours below the shoulder line create a sharper and more powerful look. Surfaces become more vertical, ground clearance increases, and the perception of power and balance is further emphasized thanks to strong body proportions. This section reflects the brand's characteristic powerful and off-road-compatible approach, inspired by SUV design cues. Integrated roof bars maintain the flow and consistency of the design while adding a functional and off-road-compatible finishing touch to the body.

The Striker is the first Dacia model to use its new “T”-shaped LED light signature at all four corners of the vehicle. A similar approach is seen at the rear; the light signature is integrated into a wide black strip, creating a strong visual harmony with the front. The strip, which features the Dacia logo in embossed lettering, highlights the vertical lines at the bottom of the tailgate, emphasizing the strong character of the overall design.

ELEGANCE, DYNAMISM, AND VERSATILITY ALL IN ONE PLACE.

The Striker's crossover design combines elegant and dynamic lines with wide proportions, resulting in high interior comfort and a confident stance. 17-inch wheels complete the model's overall character, with 18 and 19-inch wheels available as options. The Dacia Striker has a length of 4,62 meters, similar to a C-segment station wagon. Its ground clearance is on par with C-SUVs on the market (20 cm for 4x4 and 19 cm for 4x2), but slightly lower than the C-SUV world's average height of over 1,60 meters, offering a height of 1,53 meters.

Striker's elegant design is complemented by seven different color options, including two new colors: Ice Green and Cosmic Blue.

READY FOR FAMILY WEEKEND GETAWAYS AND LONG TRIPS.

The Striker reflects Dacia's robust and off-road-compatible DNA, offering a suitable infrastructure for all types of use, from short holiday getaways to long family trips. The differences in equipment levels reflect two complementary approaches tailored to individual needs and lifestyles.

The Striker Extreme trim level targets more active users who see their vehicle as an ideal exploration partner. Robust, practical, and easy to use, this version is designed to easily carry all kinds of recreational equipment and gear. Its high ground clearance makes off-road driving easier. This feature can be further enhanced with a 4x4 transmission and Hybrid 150 4x4 drivetrain, depending on the version.

The exterior protection, made with Starkle®, a durable and recycled material; the washable TEP microcloud upholstery; and the rubber mats with 50% recycled content make the model easy to use and maintain daily.

The Striker's Extreme trim level offers a direct and functional approach to outdoor activities without compromising performance or aerodynamics; it's designed for unlimited loading, carrying, and use. For a comfortable and peaceful journey, especially on long trips and family outings, the Journey trim level comes into play. A range of features enhance the driving experience in this version, including an electrically adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats and steering wheel, electric tailgate, and a mix of fabric and microcloud TEP upholstery.

The hill descent control system, also standard on the Striker's Extreme trim level, intervenes with the brakes to prevent loss of vehicle control on steep inclines with poor traction, thus allowing the driver to focus on the road and providing greater safety.

A cool, innovative, spacious and functional interior focused on basic needs.

The Striker's interior design, materials, technology, and equipment underscore Dacia's commitment to innovative practical solutions, ease of daily use, and comfort on long journeys. The dashboard, with its distinctive horizontal layout, contributes to a feeling of spaciousness and enveloping comfort for passengers, bringing the exterior design approach into the interior.

The area closest to the driver focuses on comfort and a high-quality feel. This is particularly evident in the materials used for textile surfaces and the Starkle® touch extending to the door sills, creating a harmonious effect in every aspect. This material, appearing for the first time in the interior design of a Dacia model, forms part of the brand's economical and ecological approach.

At the second level, a more functional approach is introduced. This level brings together the most frequently used function controls and allows access via buttons designed for intuitive use without taking the driver's attention off the road. This arrangement contributes to simple, clear, and intuitive use in daily operations.

The third level provides access to the interface and screen features. This section includes the 10,1-inch central touchscreen, Media Display, which is standard on all versions. The Media Display also encompasses the Arkamys 3D Sound System with six speakers.

Continuing its focus on essential features, the LightVisio digital instrument display showcases Dacia's uniquely innovative and intelligent solution approach. This 7-inch screen, standard across the entire product range, utilizes optical reflection technology to project important information as a floating 3D image.

The center console forms a significant part of the in-car experience. Designed to be high and inviting, this section organizes the space around the driver with ample and modular storage solutions, including a 6,7-liter compartment under the center armrest and, depending on the version, a sliding drawer. The cabin experience is completed by removable cup holders that can be repositioned using YouClip attachment points. The Striker features up to 9 YouClip attachment points, providing significant flexibility for in-car layout, making it a suitable solution for both everyday use and family trips.

The Striker is ideal for family use, offering ample space and comfort to comfortably accommodate five passengers and their luggage, even on long journeys. The interior provides a spacious and airy feel, further enhanced by the large panoramic glass roof that covers a significant portion of the cabin. Standard on the Extreme trim level and optional on the Journey, this feature allows plenty of light to enter, creating a brighter cabin experience.

The meticulously designed seats further enhance passenger comfort. Strong lateral support in the front seats offers improved seating support in corners, while the driver's seat is electrically adjustable in the Journey trim level. Both the Extreme and Journey trim levels also include a foldable central armrest with an integrated cup holder for rear passengers.

Driving comfort has been optimized with the Autohold system, offered for the first time in a Dacia model. The Autohold system is standard from the Expression trim level onwards and enhances driving comfort in the city by keeping the car stationary without any driver intervention.

The Striker meets the latest European safety standard, GSR2, and offers the following features as standard across all trim levels: Automatic Emergency Braking (with vehicle, pedestrian, cyclist, and motorcyclist detection in urban and highway traffic), Traffic Sign Recognition and Speed Alert, Rear Parking Assist, Emergency Brake Signal, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Advanced Driver Attention Monitoring System, and Emergency Call (e-Call). The Striker also includes Adaptive Cruise Control as standard. The optional ADAS package includes Blind Spot Monitoring, Automatic Emergency Braking in Reversing, Passenger Exit Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking at Intersections, Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and a multi-view camera.

Dacia combines these systems with a smart function called "My Safety" to make drivers' lives easier. This feature allows the driver to add specific ADAS functions to their personal settings when starting the car. This eliminates the need to repeat the process every time the car is started.

A LARGE AND PRACTICAL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT

Dacia engineers have meticulously designed the Striker's trunk. With a cargo capacity of up to 600 liters, the Striker's trunk is not only one of the best in the C segment, but also offers a range of practical features ideal for everyday use. The innovative hands-free Smart Trunk Opening feature automatically opens the electrically operated trunk. The Smart Trunk Opening system is standard on the Journey trim level and optional on the Extreme trim level.

The Striker is positioned as the first Dacia model to feature the innovative three-part luggage floor, offered as standard in the Extreme and Journey trim levels. This feature allows the luggage space to be divided as needed; it can also be used to keep items in place and prevent them from sliding. The Modular Folding system allows the rear seat backrests (in a 60/40 ratio) to be folded out of the luggage compartment using two handles located on either side of the luggage compartment.

ECONOMIC AND ECOLOGICAL: DACIA STRIKER, OPTIMIZED TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP.

One of the main goals of Dacia engineers when developing the Striker was to offer the best total cost of ownership (TCO) compared to other C-segment models in both SUV and station wagon classes. With its electric powertrain and aerodynamic design, the Striker offers an optimized total cost of ownership. This advantage becomes even more important given rising fuel prices.

CAREFULLY DESIGNED AERODYNAMICS

Aerodynamics, which are crucial for the Striker's efficiency, were given particular attention. Engineers made the most of the opportunities offered by the crossover design, such as the low body, long roofline, and sloping rear section. They also carefully considered details that minimize aerodynamic distortions, such as the cladding on the front and rear lower body areas, a large rear spoiler, and air deflectors. As a result, the Dacia Striker achieved a drag coefficient of 0,29, reflecting the crossover concept and surpassing station wagon and SUV models in the C segment.

Depending on the powertrain and equipment level, the Dacia Striker weighs approximately 1.400 kg, making it lighter than most C-SUVs and easily comparable to an average C-segment station wagon.

A COMPREHENSIVE RANGE OF MULTI-ENERGY HYBRID POWER TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS.

The Dacia Striker offers users a wide range of options with three different and advanced electric powertrain choices.

  • Striker Mild Hybrid-G 140: The combined advantages of LPG and hybrid technologies.

Dacia is the undisputed market leader in Europe for LPG vehicles and the only manufacturer to offer dual-fuel gasoline/LPG powertrain systems under the names “Mild Hybrid-G” and “Eco-G” in all models with internal combustion engines. The Striker offers a powertrain that combines dual-fuel technology with a 48V mild-hybrid system and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The mild-hybrid system supports the 1,2-liter 3-cylinder turbo engine, which can operate on either gasoline or LPG during takeoff and acceleration, providing enhanced driving pleasure and efficiency. The regenerative braking feature automatically charges the 0,8 kWh battery while driving.

Quick and seamless switching between fuel types can be done manually or automatically via an integrated button on the dashboard.

  • Striker Hybrid 155: Performance and efficiency of the hybrid system.

This powertrain consists of a 1,8-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 109 hp, two electric motors (a 49 hp motor and a high-voltage starter generator), a 1,4 kWh battery (280 V), and an automatic electric transmission with four speeds for the internal combustion engine and two speeds for electric drive.

By combining regenerative braking with the battery's high energy recovery capacity and the efficiency of the automatic transmission, the system enables up to 80% fully electric driving in urban environments. Furthermore, the car always starts in fully electric mode.

  • Striker Hybrid 150 4×4: High-tech 4×4
    – On the front axle, a 1,2-liter 48V mild hybrid engine producing 103 kW (140 hp) / 230 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission controlled via steering wheel paddles;
    – On the rear axle, an electric motor with a maximum power of 23 kW (31 hp) and 87 Nm of torque, and a two-speed automatic transmission (all of which can be disengaged).

This system provides high torque to the rear wheels at low speeds during off-road driving in first gear, while also offering the handling and fuel efficiency of a 4x2 vehicle when the rear axle is disengaged. In driving modes (Automatic/Eco/Snow), the 4x4 system remains "standby" and engages when needed at speeds up to 140 km/h.

The Striker Hybrid 150 4×4 has five driving modes to suit all driving scenarios:

  • AutomaticIn this mode, the Striker automatically manages the switching between 4x2 and 4x4 modes.
  • Eco: It provides maximum fuel efficiency and activates 4x4 mode on surfaces with low grip levels.
  • Profit: It activates 4x4 mode for road conditions with low traction.
  • Mud/Sand: It activates the 4x4 mode, which is optimized for loose terrain.
  • Land: It is used for driving on rough terrain at low speeds.

SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS

As part of its “Economic and Ecological” approach, Dacia is proud to use more sustainable materials in the Striker. The Striker incorporates over 32% materials sourced from the circular economy overall and contains 47 kg of recycled plastic.

Like other new Dacia models, the Striker uses Starkle® material, developed by the brand's engineers, in a range of exterior parts (bumpers, fender extensions and side protection). Starkle® contains between 15% and 20% recycled polypropylene and is used unpainted. This further reduces the carbon footprint generated during the production process. For the first time, the Striker uses parts in the passenger compartment (door panels and dashboard) made from up to 80% recycled polypropylene (40% of which is aftermarket material).

A SIMPLE AND COMPREHENSIVE PRODUCT RANGE

In line with Dacia's philosophy of offering clear and user-friendly model ranges to meet the needs of all customers, the Striker is available in three different trim levels. It also incorporates all the features expected of a C-segment car.

STANDARD EQUIPMENT

Striker Expression offers greater comfort: 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, electric parking brake with Autohold, high center console with armrest, power-folding side mirrors, rear seat air vents, two USB ports, 7-inch digital instrument display, 10,1-inch central display, and more.
