The Skoda Octavia, one of the brand's iconic models, is preparing to reappear in 2027 with a comprehensive facelift. Instead of introducing a completely new generation, the company will extend the car's lifespan by applying a facelift. This touch will bring about many significant changes, from design to engine options.
The renders prepared by Auto-Moto are based on camouflaged prototypes spotted during test drives and existing design cues. While these images shed light on the possible appearance of the 2027 Skoda Octavia, some details may change in the final production version.
Design reminiscent of electric vehicles.
The 2027 Skoda Octavia is coming with a look that bears traces of the brand's "Modern Solid" design philosophy. Spy photos reveal that the front grille will be slimmed down, giving it a look similar to the brand's new electric SUV models, the Epiq and Peaq. The logo on the hood is expected to be replaced by the word "SKODA".
But that's not all. The exterior of the vehicle is being refreshed with a new alloy wheel design and a redesigned rear light signature. Inside, a new infotainment system and updated equipment are expected to offer more comprehensive innovations compared to the current model.
Interior changes
The leaked images suggest that the traditional instrument panel visor in front of the driver will be removed, resulting in a simpler cockpit design. The digital instrument display is expected to be more integrated into the dashboard. Additionally, the current horizontal multimedia screen in the cockpit may be replaced by a larger, vertically positioned screen.
A complete hybrid surprise.
The biggest surprise in terms of engine options is that the full-hybrid engine, also used in the Volkswagen Group's new T-Roc model, will be joining the Octavia family for the first time. While the current engine range is expected to be largely preserved, the new hybrid unit is specifically aimed at challenging Toyota's market dominance in this segment.
The new Octavia will continue to be offered in both sedan and station wagon (Combi) body styles, and will also retain its sporty RS version. The car is planned to be officially unveiled in the first half of 2027 and go on sale a few months later. With the technical and technological improvements impacting costs, the starting price is estimated to exceed €32.000 in the European market.
