The Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS has set another record at the Nürburgring. The semi-slick tires, used on the Manthey Kit-equipped version of the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, achieved a new record lap time of 6 minutes and 55 seconds in the electric car category. This marks the first time a production electric car has managed to break the seven-minute mark at the Nürburgring.

Pirelli's tires, specially developed for this model, provided extra grip on the Nürburgring, considered one of the world's toughest racetracks, contributing to extra seconds being gained. The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Manthey Kit thus significantly improved the 7 minute 07,5 second lap time achieved by the Taycan Turbo GT Weissach in 2023.

Specifically developed for the vehicle, the P Zero Trofeo RS also incorporates Pirelli's Elect technology, designed for electric and hybrid vehicles. This technology supports the performance characteristics of electric vehicles and contributes to optimizing driving dynamics.

Reference Tire for the Tracks: P Zero Trofeo RS

With this latest success at the Nürburgring, the Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS has further solidified its position as a benchmark tire for track performance. Originally developed as original equipment for hypercars and supercars, it is also offered in special versions for high-performance vehicles such as the Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 RS.

The P Zero Trofeo RS, also available on the replacement market today, brings Pirelli's technologies, developed for the world's most prestigious and high-performance cars, to a wider audience. Designed for drivers who want to maximize track-focused driving performance, the tire also has road use approval.

The version developed for the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Manthey Kit is the first series-production tire to contribute to the Nürburgring record and contain over 50% certified bio-based and recycled materials. This percentage is indicated by a special logo on the tire's sidewall.

Furthermore, the natural rubber used in the tire is FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) certified. This certification guarantees that the raw material is managed responsibly throughout the entire supply chain, from the forest to the production facility.

Full Marks in Independent Tests

The performance of the P Zero Trofeo RS has also been confirmed by independent testing organizations. The Tyre Reviews platform rated the tire as “the best among the world’s fastest tires,” particularly highlighting its dry-road performance and consistent handling characteristics.

Auto Bild Sportscars magazine, in a test comparing five different semi-slick tires suitable for off-road use, selected the P Zero Trofeo RS as the best tire for track use and awarded it an "Exemplary" rating.

Since its launch, the P Zero Trofeo RS has set numerous records at the Nürburgring across various categories. In 2025 alone, it broke the lap record in the electric vehicle category, achieved the first lap time under 7 minutes and 30 seconds in the compact car category, and contributed to setting the fastest touring car record.
