With sales exceeding 50 million units worldwide, the Toyota Corolla, which holds the title of "the world's best-selling car," is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a special series. First launched in 1966, the legendary model bids farewell to its current body style with the "60th Anniversary Special Edition" before the introduction of its new generation in 2027. Unveiled in Taiwan, this collection includes Sedan, Cross, and Sport models. Gold-bronze finishes on the body add a sophisticated touch to the design.
Bronze Touch and a Tribute in the Interior
The winds of change continue inside the cabin as well. Engineers have incorporated bronze trim that complements the exterior design in areas such as the instrument panel, center console, and steering wheel. The color theme preserved in the seat stitching instills a "memorial series" spirit in the vehicle. This move, which preserves the existing architecture, is more of a visual tribute than a technological upgrade.
Countdown to the Next Generation: 2027
The current generation, which has been on the roads since 2018, concludes its life cycle with this series. All eyes are now on the completely new Corolla generation, expected to revolutionize hybrid technology and hit the roads in 2027.
