German automotive manufacturer Audi is sharing the first details of the interior design of its new flagship Audi Q9, which sits at the top of its product range. Designed as a mobile living space for families, business people, and long journeys, the full-size SUV stands out with its spacious interior and innovative technologies.
Audi CEO Gernot Döllner stated that the Q9 redefines the in-car experience; it offers a top-tier equipment package with six or seven-seater configurations, fully electric doors (a first for the brand), an intelligent panoramic glass roof, and a 4D sound system. Scheduled for its official world premiere in the summer of 2026, the vehicle functions more like an advanced technology hub than a means of transportation.
-
Fully Electric Doors: In a first for Audi, this feature allows the doors to be automatically controlled via a smartphone app, brake pedal, or seatbelt buckle, and is supported by advanced safety sensors.
-
Smart Panoramic Glass Roof: The massive 1.5 square meter glass area, accessible via nine different zones, can be switched between transparent and matte with the touch of a button, blocking 99.5% of harmful UV rays.
-
High-End Multimedia and Power Infrastructure: The Bang & Olufsen 4D sound system, seat-integrated actuators, dual wireless charging pads with Qi2.2 support, and 100-watt USB-C ports elevate the in-car electronics experience to the next level.
The Audi Q9 offers superior comfort and flexible usability in its interior.
One of the most striking features of the Audi Q9 is its spacious interior and flexible seating configurations. For those seeking comfort, the six-seat configuration includes two independent, electrically adjustable seats in the middle row with ventilation and massage functions.

In the seven-seater version designed for large families, child seats can be fitted to all three seats in the second row. The seats in the third row fold down with a single touch using electric buttons to increase luggage space.
The interior design language is supported by high-quality materials such as alpaca wool, Dinamica microfiber, fine Nappa leather, and real wood. The replacement of glossy surfaces with matte and textured materials reduces fingerprints and provides a cleaner look.

Innovative Door Systems and Smart Glass Roofs
The new Q9 incorporates many technological firsts for the German manufacturer. The fact that all doors can be opened and closed electrically not only provides ease of use but also increases security with its sensors.

The doors detect obstacles in the surroundings, preventing collisions, and identify approaching cyclists, preventing potential accidents. The vehicle's panoramic glass roof stands out as a remarkable engineering detail.

The glass roof adjusts its level of opacity and transparency via electric current. This system automatically opaques when the vehicle is parked, preventing visibility from the outside, eliminating the need for a mechanical curtain. Additionally, the 84 LED lights in the roof system offer 30 different color options to complement the interior ambiance.
Enhanced 4D Audio Experience and Charging Station
The in-car infotainment system makes journeys more interactive. The updated 4D premium sound system developed by Bang & Olufsen, with vibration actuators placed in the front seats, allows you to not only hear the music but also physically feel it.
Speakers integrated into the headrests create an isolated sound field for driver-specific navigation instructions and phone calls, without disturbing other passengers.
The redesigned center console features dual wireless charging pads that support the Qi2.2 standard, allowing you to charge two smartphones simultaneously. Additionally, the vehicle's USB-C ports provide up to 100 Watts of power output, enabling charging even laptops.
The aluminum rail system in the luggage compartment ensures that cargo is securely fastened with movable hooks. The full potential and equipment details of the new flagship will be revealed at the global event to be held next summer.
