Mercedes-Benz celebrated the 140th anniversary of the invention of the automobile with a nostalgic and exclusively special Eastern Express train journey. At the end of this captivating journey from Erzurum to Erzincan, they introduced the GLC 400 4MATIC Edition 1 AMG and GLB 200+ AMG models, now available in the Turkish market.
The all-electric version of the GLC, Mercedes-Benz's best-selling model worldwide, offers a fast and highly practical charging experience with its new generation battery and 800-volt system that significantly reduces charging time. With a range of up to 638 kilometers according to WLTP, the new GLC provides an additional 300 kilometers of range with just 10 minutes of charging.
The new electric GLB 200+ AMG, which went on sale in Türkiye in April with a special engine for the Turkish market, also offers a range of up to 590 kilometers (WLTP) with its lithium-ion battery having a usable energy capacity of 85 kWh.
Mercedes-Benz has set the standards in the industry for 140 years.
Speaking at the launch of the all-new electric GLC, which will also be available for sale in Türkiye, Şükrü Bekdikhan, Chairman of the Executive Board and Head of the Automobile Group at Mercedes-Benz Automotive, said: “As of April 2026, we are in a leading position in the premium segment with 7.483 units sold. Last year, our electric models accounted for more than 20% of sales. We predict that the interest in fully electric models will continue to increase this year as well. In our 140th year, we are implementing the most comprehensive product launch program in the history of our brand. We are taking a strong step towards the future with more than 40 new models. The GLC is one of the important representatives of this transformation.”

Dr. Nadine Adam, Director of Sales and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Automobiles, stated that Carl Benz redefined freedom 140 years ago with his invention of the automobile, and that the new GLC 400 4MATIC Edition 1 AMG offers a comfortable travel experience with a range of up to 638 kilometers. Underlining that Mercedes-Benz will be the brand with the most models in the premium segment by 2027, with more than 40 new models to be offered, Dr. Adam said, “With the new GLC and the new GLB, we will expand our electric portfolio in Türkiye, delivering what our customers expect from a family car in a fully electric way. Dr. Nadine Adam added that while they aim for one in every five vehicles they sell to be electric by 2025, they also target one in every four vehicles they sell to be electric by the end of 2026. She also stated that sales booked through the Online Store were quickly adopted by premium segment customers and reached 12 percent of their total sales volume this year.

The all-new electric GLC's 800-volt system offers a fast and highly practical charging experience. Providing a range of up to 638 kilometers according to WLTP, the new GLC can add up to 300 kilometers of range with just 10 minutes of charging, while also supporting fast DC charging up to 330 kW. The new GLC 400 4MATIC Edition 1 AMG, with its 489 hp power, also stands out with its impressive performance, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4,3 seconds.
The new GLC's One-Box braking system ensures linear, consistent, and safe deceleration through energy recovery or mechanical braking. The MB.DRIVE systems in the all-new electric GLC offer first-class advanced driving assistance, utilizing up to ten external cameras, five radar sensors, and twelve ultrasonic sensors. Superior ride comfort is guaranteed by the intelligent AIRMATIC air suspension, familiar from the S-Class. This comfort is combined with a rear-axle steering system featuring a wheel turn angle of up to 4,5 degrees, providing superior agility.
With a towing capacity of up to 2,4 tons, it offers towing power suitable for various applications.
The new GLC offers suitable towing capabilities for large caravans and boats, with a braked towing capacity of up to 2,4 tons. A tow bar capable of carrying up to 100 kilograms also allows for the transport of electric bikes with a suitable carrier. With ESP® trailer stabilization and Trailer Maneuvering Assist, the GLC offers particularly comfortable and safe handling.
In addition, the Trailer Maneuvering Assist provides driver support when reversing with a trailer. The system automatically controls the steering angle of the tractor at speeds up to 7 km/h and on inclines of up to 15 percent. The trailer type can be selected, and the maximum allowed speed can be set via the central media screen. Furthermore, the additional energy consumption caused by the trailer is taken into account in range planning.
The new GLC 400 4MATIC, with its TERRAIN MODE feature for off-road or gravel driving, adjusts driving, steering, and braking characteristics according to road conditions. The "clear hood" feature combines images from the front camera and the exterior mirror cameras to provide a virtual view under the front of the car.

Mercedes-Benz's largest screen to date, the all-new, seamless 99,3 centimeter (39,1 inch) MBUX HYPERSCREEN, offers exceptional clarity thanks to its high resolution and innovative matrix lighting technology with more than 1.000 individual LEDs.
The new GLC's 4th generation MBUX, the first in-car infotainment system to integrate AI technologies developed by Microsoft and Google, opens the door to a whole new world of personalized experience and intuitive interaction between humans and cars. The MBUX Virtual Assistant uses a "Multi-Agent Approach," combining AI tools from Microsoft and Google. Even within the same conversation, it selects the most appropriate resource for each task and combines information gathered from the internet. While speaking with the MBUX Virtual Assistant, the user receives detailed answers without needing to repeat the content, and the Virtual Assistant understands and answers questions on a variety of topics in quick succession.
The world's first car manufacturer to offer certified vegan interior features.
Mercedes-Benz is setting new standards in interior design with the new GLC, offering an optional Vegan package without compromising on luxury comfort. Vegan Society-certified luxury interior materials make Mercedes-Benz the first car manufacturer in the world to offer independently certified vegan interiors.
Furthermore, the new GLC's seats offer the highest level of comfort, preventing fatigue for both driver and passengers on long journeys. All seats have AGR certification from the German-based "Aktion Gesunder Rücken" (Healthy Backs Association).
Both seating structures utilize recycled materials; the seat foam is made with 30% recycled material. The Comfort seats also feature black artificial leather and support textiles derived from recycled PET bottles.
MICROCUT microfiber fabric is made entirely from recycled materials, offering high quality and durability with its suede-like texture. The base covering is also made from 100% recycled Econyl yarn.
Developed for greater ergonomics and intuitive use, the new steering wheel incorporates rocker controls for speed limiter and cruise control, and roller controls for volume, based on extensive feedback from Mercedes-Benz users.
