Officially launched in the Chinese market, the ID. UNYX 08 stands out as the first mass-produced product of the partnership between Volkswagen and Xpeng. Introduced at the Anhui factory on April 16th, this SUV is offered in three versions for China, with prices ranging from 229.900 yuan to 289.900 yuan. Featuring 800V infrastructure and 315 kW DC fast charging support, the model also boasts a range of 630 to 730 kilometers.

The vehicle measures 5.000 mm in length, 1.954 mm in width, and 1.672 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3.030 mm. Two different wheel options are available, 20 and 21 inches, and four-piston fixed Brembo calipers are standard. Inside, a 10,25-inch digital instrument display and two 14,96-inch 2.4K screens enhance the driving experience. The Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8295P chip combines AI-powered capabilities with those based on Baidu's Wenxin language model.

The five-seater design offers a boot capacity of 766 liters, which increases to 1.845 liters when the rear seats are folded down. The front seats feature 12-way electric adjustment, heating and ventilation, as well as 10-point pneumatic massage.

Three versions, two battery options, and two traction systems. The entry-level Pure version, offering a range of 630 kilometers, has a starting price of 229.900 yuan. The Ultra version, with 730 kilometers, is priced at 249.900 yuan, and the Max version, with 700 kilometers, costs 289.900 yuan. The batteries are CATL-produced lithium-iron-phosphate options with capacities of 82 kWh and 95 kWh. In the single-motor rear-wheel-drive configuration, power reaches 230 kW, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration delivers a total power of 370 kW. The fastest version boasts a 0-100 km/h time of 4,9 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h.

An impressive package in terms of charging and driving assistance. The ID. UNYX 08 with a 95 kWh battery comes with 315 kW peak DC fast charging support. According to official data, the vehicle can gain approximately 150 km of range with a 5-minute charging time; charging from 10% to 80% takes approximately 20 minutes. In terms of driving assistance, it features an L2-class NOA-supported advanced driving assistant with 11 cameras, 3 millimeter wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and dual AI Turing chips offering 1500 TOPS of processing power. Additionally, DCC adaptive suspension and dual-chamber air suspension offer up to 100 mm of height adjustment depending on road conditions.
