Hyundai aims to surpass previous projects in the Chinese market with its Ioniq electric car series. Following the success of the Ioniq 5, 6, and 9 models in the West, this Chinese entry is being supported by entirely new and ambitious concepts. Two concepts unveiled ahead of the current auto show clearly demonstrate the brand's serious preparations for this market.

As part of a new strategy where all Ioniq models sold in China will now be named after planets, the first two concepts announced are Venus and Earth. Venus breaks away from the brand's usual design, emerging as a striking sedan. Its gold-colored exterior, aerodynamic lines, slim LED headlights, and wide grille detail make it stand out. Inside, gold-toned details, a large panoramic screen, and a passenger-specific multimedia experience are reminiscent of the Hyundai Elexio model produced in China. It remains unclear which parts will be implemented in mass production.

Earth, on the other hand, stands out as a much bolder SUV concept. This model, notable for its impressive and powerful lines at the front, is offered in a special color called Aurora Shield by Hyundai. With rear doors that open backwards, the interior of this concept reflects the future of mobility with a tablet-like central screen and special seats supported by air modules.

According to Hyundai, the Ioniq brand will not remain just a car series in China, but will also evolve into an expanding mobility ecosystem. Hyundai Vice President Li Fenggang in Beijing stated that these two concepts strongly demonstrate the brand's commitment to the Chinese market, and that mass-production models combining intelligent driving with an intelligent cabin experience will be introduced in the near future. While the launch date is not yet finalized, China-specific Ioniq models are expected to be on the roads very soon.
