A significant milestone has been reached in vehicle inspection processes. TÜVTÜRK has implemented new standards for license plate inspections, initiating a practice that directly affects drivers. New license plates without a QR code will now be considered a serious defect, and vehicles with these plates will fail inspection. Furthermore, vehicles will not be allowed on the road without a license plate change.

New license plate rules This regulation, announced under the title "Certificate of Compliance for License Plates," clarifies the requirements for a license plate to be found suitable during vehicle inspection. These requirements include: the plate being issued by the Turkish Federation of Drivers and Automobile Owners, containing a seal and hologram, a QR code for plates printed after January 1, 2024, and the absence of screws or holes on or within the numbers and letters.
