Preparing for an ambitious offensive in the UK market, MG has officially started the ordering process for the new S9 PHEV, its largest-scale production model to date. This new seven-seater SUV offers a remarkable position against its competitors in its segment with its advanced technologies and a starting price of £34.205.
NEW MG S9 ENGINE AND BATTERY SPECIFICATIONS
This model combines a turbocharged 1,5-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor and a 24,7 kWh battery; this combination provides up to approximately 100 kilometers of fully electric driving. The hybrid powertrain only has a 7 kW charging capacity and does not offer DC fast charging support. This provides vehicle users with benefits such as a 9% special tax advantage.
In terms of pricing, the MG S9 is considered more attractive than its closest rival, the Chery Tiggo 9, and carries a competitive price tag compared to premium options such as the Land Rover Discovery and Volvo XC90. With all seven seats upright, the boot space reaches 332 litres; when the rear seats are fully folded down, the cargo capacity exceeds 1000 litres. While the interior design is not expected to be fully defined in the UK-specific versions, it is likely that the Australian version will feature two large screens and physical buttons for basic functions.
Official technical details and information to be released to the public as the vehicles arrive at UK dealerships in the coming weeks will lead to a comprehensive presentation of the new SUV.
