With the increasing popularity of electric cars, more compact and practical models are coming to the forefront for urban use. The Renault R5 E-Tech Electric is one of the notable representatives of this trend. Combining the classic Renault 5 identity with a modern electric infrastructure, the model will be available in showrooms in Türkiye with two different engine and battery options as of March 2026.

According to the March 2026 price list, the Techno EV40 120 hp version starts at 1.890.000 TL, while the Techno EV52 150 hp version is priced at 2.105.000 TL. Renault Türkiye's version page also confirms these starting prices.
Entry-level EV40 A 40 kWh battery is used. According to the configurator data, the power output is 90 kW (120 hp), torque is 225 Nm, 0-100 km/h time is 9 seconds, and the top speed is 150 km/h. The WLTP combined consumption value is listed as 14,7 kWh/100 km. Furthermore, according to WLTP data, the range compatible with city driving and automatic mode is approximately 308 km.

Techno EV52 52 kWh battery With its power package, it delivers 110 kW (150 hp) of power, 245 Nm of torque, and promises a range of up to 410 km. Its 0-100 km/h acceleration is recorded in 8 seconds, and its top speed is limited to 150 km/h. The difference between the two versions is significant in terms of charging: the EV40 supports 11 kW AC and 80 kW DC fast charging, while the EV52 supports 11 kW AC and 100 kW DC fast charging. Furthermore, the brand states that the model with the 52 kWh battery can be charged from 15% to 80% in 30 minutes at public DC fast charging stations.
In terms of equipment, both versions are offered under the Techno package. Features such as a rearview camera, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, hands-free parking system, and RENO Avatar are standard. Additionally, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, under-hood charging indicator, dynamic ambient lighting, and tinted rear windows are among the highlights of the Techno package.
Looking at the dimensions, the Renault R5 E-Tech Electric continues its city-focused design. With a length of 3922 mm, a wheelbase of 2540 mm, and a boot capacity of 326 liters, it meets daily needs. When the rear seats are folded down, the maximum boot capacity can reach 1106 liters, making the vehicle suitable for both city driving and daily family use.
The main differences between the two versions aren't limited to price; the EV40 offers a more accessible starting point, while the EV52 stands out with higher power, longer range, and fast DC charging support. Therefore, beyond the starting price, usage scenarios and daily range needs are also important factors to consider when making a purchase decision.
